presentation of the 1800 BLUE EDITION SOFTAIL SLIM S FLSS 2018
Do you remember the NR 750? This technological jewel shook up the motorcycling world with its oval piston engine, its demonstration of Honda know-how and its unbelievable price. Today, its price tag is almost laughable when you see the taros of a Midual, NCR or Massimo Tamburini T12. In Switzerland, Bucherer, a specialist in luxury watches and jewelry, has gone much further. Too far, in fact.
in collaboration with Bündnerbike, they have created a preparation worthy of a place in the Guinness Book of Records. This Harley-Davidson Blue Edition is a mixture of diamonds, American twin, meticulousness and some 2,500 hours of work. To face this motorcycle is to leap into vertigo. Exterior design enhanced by 360 diamonds, genuine gold-plated screws, two safes recessed in the tank housing a unique Carl F. Bucherer watch and diamond rings signed Bucherer Fine Jewellery, plus surprising engine lighting.
the motorcycle is based on a Harley-Davidson Softail Slim S, here totally unrecognizable. Every single metal component has been crafted, welded, stamped, ground and polished by hand especially for this unique model. The bike's entire frame is made from a single piece, with no welding whatsoever, and even the rims are made to measure. A window overlooking the camshaft housing allows you to observe its rotation, the valve train and the golden throttle valve. Thermal resistance LED lights illuminate this spectacle. The Harley Blue Edition is the first motorcycle in the world to feature an internally-lit engine. Various parts of the bike are covered in gold, while the bovine leather seat is hand-stitched in Switzerland. For the iridescent color, an intense, luminous blue, the craftsmen had to use a special technology. After silvering the entire bike, they applied six coats of color using a secret painting process.

a domed dial in armoured glass conceals a particularly precious additional jewel in a recessed safev: a Heaven six-claw solitaire ring, set with a 5.40-carat diamond. A unique piece, just like the Carl F. Bucherer watch custom-made from the Patravi TravelTec II model and concealed in a second safe on the right tank. The dial of the latter unique piece features elements of a motorcycle engine. To prevent engine vibrations from damaging the mechanical movement, the watch is fixed in a sort of cage by a sophisticated system of silicone rings. "We spent a lot of time on this," says Samir Merdanovic, Head of Manufacture Movements at Carl F. Bucherer, about the development, which required a great deal of thought. "The support, for example, also acts as a winder. This means that the watch is regularly wound and continues to run even when the motorcycle is stationary for a long time," explains Merdanovic. The owner has a lot to look forward to, as the motorcycle goes hand in hand with another unique Bucherer piece: a wristwatch. Created especially for the buyer by the watchmaker, it features design elements of the motorcycle and its engine on its dial.
the ultimate special feature is that this is the most expensive motorcycle in the world. Its value stands at 1,888,000 Swiss francs. Converting it into euros won't make this staggering sum any easier. Let's put it into perspective: this bike takes us into another dimension, where Harley history meets timepieces.

And that's sad.
It's sad because only an emir will be able to afford it, without putting any limits on it, because it's too expensive, uncomfortable, unadaptable... Rating : 3/5 Respond to DantonQ
