Motorcycle specifications Harley-Davidson1870 SOFTAIL FXDR 114 2019 A Harley that wants to tear some rubber.
presentation of the 1870 SOFTAIL FXDR 114 2019
It seems that Harley has found a way for its twin M8 to express itself with all its will and power. With the FXDR 114! This powerful cruiser takes Harley-Davidson performance to the next level. This new model combines the relentless power of the Milwaukee-Eight engine in its 114 ci displacement, with the generous use of aluminum and composite parts to optimize handling and performance. It gets a new aluminum swingarm, aluminum subframe, lightweight wheels and composite mudguards to boost efficiency.
The FXDR 114 is equipped with the most powerful engine ever installed in a Softail chassis, the 1870 cm3 twin being developed to deliver 160 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The Softail chassis and premium suspension provide unprecedented agility for winding back roads and city traffic. The FXDR 114 offers a greater rake angle than any other Softail model.
Aesthetically, the FXDR 114 asserts its intentions by drawing inspiration from Dragster competition, sporting a molded windscreen, a truncated rear section and a solo seat. The rear fender is designed to wrap around an imposing 240 mm tire, and is articulated around suspensions that disappear from view when the FXDR 114 is in action.
The FXDR 114's aluminum swingarm achieves a weight reduction of 4.62 kg (6.25 kg instead of 10.88 kg, i.e. 43% less weight) compared to a steel Softail swingarm combined with a 240 mm rear tire. Because this is unsprung weight (mass located under the suspension), this gain has a significant impact on rear suspension performance, and is reinforced by a lightweight 18-inch aluminum rear wheel.
The 19-inch forged aluminum Ace front wheel benefits from a lightened design that incorporates very thin spokes. The saddle and rear section of the FXDR 114 are supported by the lower frame section made of welded aluminum tubing and composite. This replaces the steel subframe, steel rear fender and aluminum fender brackets used on other Softail models, representing a weight saving of around 3.17 kg.
With the FXDR, the American brand seems to want to offer something sportier than usual: a dragster-influenced cruiser that won't hesitate to deliver big thrusts under its 16.3 mkg of torque.

Very maneuverable, and lighter than the FatBob and breakOut (more ground clearance too).
While I didn't like it at all in photos, I found it quite nice in person.
Then I tried it for the first time, purely out of curiosity. And then I couldn't get it out of my mind until I bought it (although I tried the others again!).
Easy to transform, too. And gets a lot of thumbs up (okay, not necessarily from die-hard Harley fans!). Rating : 5/5 Respond to Boris
