presentation of the CB 600 F HORNET 1999
fancy a little roadster with a healthy kick? With the Hornet, Honda offers a turbulent, barely watered-down machine. Just think: a 600 CBR block, just toned down, in a particularly lively chassis. If the mill lacks enthusiasm at the bottom end of the rev counter, it becomes a helluva fighter above 10,000 rpm. Superbly manoeuvrable, with a killer look and brakes to match, the CBF is a little urban terror. It brakes like an eel, insinuating itself into the flow of traffic, playing with the road and begging for more. However, the "Hornet" isn't the most livable Honda on a daily basis. The dry suspension and hard seat are no guarantee of comfort. We're almost thankful for the short range, which allows you to rest your buttocks. The Hornet is more toy than utility. To increase its range and combat the market leader, the Yamaha 600 Fazer, the manufacturer has added a Fairing version. Equipped with a protective fork head, the beast has only moderately accepted the graft. Admittedly, the design has become more dynamic, and wind resistance has been pushed beyond 160, but the appendage's finish is disappointing. And worst of all, when approaching mid-range, it vibrates unmercifully. Needs fine-tuning. But if you want to have fun on a turbulent, invigorating machine, the Hornet is more than worthwhile.

every time I take it out I'm
I'm happy to get on it and enjoy it
i fitted her with hyper sport tires, a pleasure, it sticks to the road, now 40000 kilometers and not the slightest problem, oil change every 6000 kilometers with full synthetic oil
it runs like clockwork Rating : 5/5 Respond to mimichoupi

I used to ride only Honda trials and loved my 1987 600 XLR until 1998.
Now for 17 years I'm still riding my 1998 hornet because I like it so much and it's easy to ride around town.
On the other hand, as I'm a girl, I have to say that once I tried to go full throttle on the freeway... it was a painful experience for my neck and arm muscles, because you need strength, and the 190 kilometers per hour on the odometer remains a unique feat that I've never done again.
When I bought the bike, I installed a bullet crankcase protector and a small windscreen, which I have to say are the bare minimum. The crankcase protector is true, but I have to say that it's formidable for its protection, because every time my bike has fallen, I've never had anything but broken mirrors or handles.
The only problem I've had on my bike in 17 years, and which I've just replaced this year, is the regulator rectifier, which cost me very little.
Otherwise, I go to the mechanic for regular maintenance and enjoy my bike every day.
It's a powerful, sturdy bike that I hope will last me a few more years without any major problems.
I wish you all a lot of fun with your hornets and happy riding! :-)

.j\'ai parcouru 66000 kms en 4 ans à l\'île de la REUNION. With a DEVIL exhaust system (superposed), a real treat. I'm in the process of refurbishing a 2002 with a tank to be decabossed
But, I know that once finished my GULF decoration will not go unnoticed? Sincerely Eric . Rating : 4/5 Respond to PAPANGUES974
it's a very playful bike
a true polivalente

Otherwise, apart from the short range, it's all good fun! Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
excellent bike, this is my second hornet
the first from 1999 and this one from 2002
prefer the models since 2000 with 17" front wheel
just one negative point: fuel autonomy, otherwise nothing to complain about, even when you ride a sportbike or big roadster..
gO FOR IT!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to sisim49
excellent handling with road 2 drivers !
great noise with a carbon devil !
great styling with ermax wheel arch with integrated lights and carbon wheel leche !!!
what a pleasure !!!!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to yogui
i went from a 15 sprocket to a 13 sprocket and it was already
with the 13 sprocket, I can tell you that in 2nd gear, it lifts by itself and it's terrible
great bike. Rating : 5/5 Respond to boubou1824
It's a versatile bike, with an engine that really gets going when you rev it up
On the other hand, I find the range very inadequate with my 16-liter tank
I do about 200 to 220 kms before reserve (with about 13 liters) when riding smoothly, but when riding hard, I'm back at the pump after 130 kms (with my gearbox output sprocket in 14, my speedo is distorted and shows 7% too many kms)
I also find that the rear shock absorber isn't up to scratch
In terms of modifications, I've fitted a 14 sprocket, a high bubble, a shoe, a top case and a comfort seat
I also had a thicker fork oil put in
For trips of 200 to 300 kms, the duo doesn't pose any problems (depending on the morphology of the passenger). Rating : 5/5 Respond to torque
magniable et qui dépote!! moi g les pipes d'admition de réalèsé et je dois dire que ca le fait bien, pignon de 14, le coup de pied o cul a 8000tr/m!
maximum speed exceeded, and... the cosomation too... a full tank every 130 kms without the reserve while having a bit of fun!
the small ermax wind compartment means you can hold out longer at high speeds
the only drawbacks: it's from 2001, so there's no gauge, and comfort on long journeys
so, as they say, see you soon in my retro! and watch out for yourselves :-)

Excellent fuel economy 5L/100 km
excellent handling
Hard shock absorber

oK, you've got to be serious, but I'm in
As for the cbr 954 and 1100 xx, well, you can't see them in the mountains (they're too far behind lol)
In short, a great bike, but one that would gladly accept 20 more hp and more torque!
(I didn't mention it, but in the mountains it's 1st or 2nd if you want to keep up!)
bonne route à tous, gaffe à vous! Rating : 5/5 Respond to hybris
