presentation of the CBR 125 R 2007

"I want a CBR too!". A lot of people say that, and don't even have a license. No problem. Honda is open to all, thinks of all, and decided in 2004 that a CBR handlebar could conquer hearts other than those in the Supersports and Hyperpsorts market. Thus was born the CBR 125 R. With a CBR 600 FS 2001 look, a rock-bottom price, remarkable handling and reliable mechanics, this mini-sport bike quickly made a name for itself. 2007 heralds its first facelift.

the advantage of having big sisters is that you can draw inspiration from their wardrobes to design your own look. The little CBR takes up the lines of the latest 600 and 1000 models, with particular attention paid to the fork head, now very similar to that of the 600 RR. The new shape of the headlamps is now in exactly the same "Line Beam" style as the big CBR RRs.
The rear end remains unchanged. Most of the changes to the CBR 125 have been to the front-end design, a slight redesign of the instrumentation, and mechanical improvements.

the little single-cylinder engine retains its characteristics: just over 13 hp, 2-valve, water-cooled, single ACT. The big improvement is the arrival of PGM-FI fuel injection on this little distiller. With this, the CBR 125 will start better, pollute less and benefit from smoother engine management.

under the fairing, it's the same machine (only 4 kg heavier): double-beam steel frame, aluminum rims, narrow tires, single brake disc... Honda concentrated on design and power - the whole bike didn't need major (and costly) transformations. The price of this little sports bike is unlikely to change, although it will be cleaner and with a little more sex appeal. What do budding drivers think?

I love this bike, it's fun to ride, always a pleasure. What motor oil do you recommend for good performance? Rating : 5/5

This little Honda was my first motorcycle, along with my 125 license. Once installed on this charming little lady, happiness was guaranteed: the engine is full-bodied, albeit slightly sluggish below 5000rpm, the fork offers roadholding that even the biggest don't have, and the original pot allows the single-cylinder to express itself freely. Because of its small size, the thin tires are more than enough to attack even on wet roads. With a fuel consumption of 5.5L per cent when cruising, and just 4L when remaining calm (out of town), the 10-liter tank means you can see the gas station coming, except on fast lanes where the small engine makes its thirst felt to such an extent that the fuel gauge sinks in sight. Braking is effective, and allows you to stop quickly.
This is a 125 that could be described as exemplary, even if the top speed of 132km/h leaves me a little wary... For a lifelong biker in spirit, this CBR is a little marvel, with its sporty roots, capable of surviving any test.

Hello everyone, I'm the new owner of this pretty bike, I've been riding it for a long time, these little wheels scare me. Can we legally change the rims to 140 or even smaller? Rating : 5/5

A new biker (one month old), I bought a 2007 cbr 125. After a bit of a slow start, I'm really happy to be riding my little millstone. Happy at 50 to have taken up motorcycling. A real treat. Rating : 4/5

With the bridle still on, my Cbr does 138km/h, so for the tests, they must have put a big one on!

The little cbr, born in 2004 after the sulphurous 2-stroke nsr, was a hit thanks to its unbeatable price (2700e to start with, if I remember correctly) and remarkable performance for a small 4-stroke engine. But the Japanese teenager's stature eventually got the better of him, especially when a certain yzf showed its fairing. However, if you're under 1.75 m tall and reasonably heavy, this bike is a real all-rounder, especially if you fit it with a slightly more protective bubble. Capable of taking you gaily around town and on the byways, it can even take you on vacation and shamelessly do a few stretches of freeway at a steady 115km/h average without tiring. Precise in sport and comfortable on long trips, thanks in particular to a quality shock absorber, it will give you a taste for motorcycling and leave you with lasting memories. Well-finished, reliable, versatile and with the performance of an MZ rt in its day, the Honda cbr is still a benchmark today, although its price has risen in proportion to its new, slightly larger size. Despite this general inflation, it remains a more versatile motorcycle than its sportier (overly?) rivals. What's more, if you've got the money for it, a good homologated adaptable pot will make the formidable little engine breathe better, restore the precious tenths of hp it has lost due to the new anti-pollution standards, and tow its new "big" tires with more drive. Alternatively, you can buy a second-hand version of the previous-generation model, which is slightly more powerful and sportier (and often ahead of its rivals in tests). A good buy whatever the vintage, you'll be anything but disappointed. Rating : 5/5

I bought this 125 new a year and a half ago, and have covered 6,000 km on it. A practical little bike, fast enough for its class. Good comfort, even in a duo for small riders. Nice engine, but you have to work hard for it. Very good value for money, I got it for 2699 euros. Rating : 5/5
