presentation of the CBR 600 F 2013
it's the return of one of the most emblematic sports bikes in the history of the 600. We're gradually forgetting that, before being a pure pistarde, the CBR 600 was F before it was RR. The market was looking for radical machines, which precipitated the end of the F series. Introduced in 1987 as the standard-bearer of a much-praised category, it came to a confidential end in 2006. a mere 23,000 units sold in France were not enough to ensure its continued existence... until 2011, when the CBR 600 F was reborn.
After all, how many times has it been said that a modern track bike is no longer fit for the road? Demanding, uncomfortable, sharp, expensive, exclusive, these models were all about the track and the lap time, not your back. The CBR 600 F was something else. A sports bike that could be used every day, capable of road and sport riding, just like the Yamaha 600 Thundercat. But the public wants the dream, the exceptional. So we give it to them.
Could it be that the times are slowing down? That would explain the reappearance of the CBR 600 F. It's based on the same ideas as before. And that's a good thing. These values are reflected in the shape of the bodywork, which is sporty but not too sporty. The Honda Rome design office was responsible for this silhouette, based on multi-layer design. But I don't find the CBR soul, that symbol of Honda sport. I get the impression that it's wearing a dress for which it wasn't intended. Could this CBR not be one?

Its specific mapping, far less exclusive than necessary for a racing bike, should give it more roundness and responsiveness. Those who are tired of living between 13,000 and 15,000 rpm are starting to listen.
Based on the Hornet roadster, the CBR 600 F opus 2011 - 2013 will offer very similar handling. Its backbone frame and less radical geometry will take you away from the speeding spirit and give you a more road-like ride at speed. The 41 mm inverted fork will seem perfectly innocuous, while the brake calipers will seem to have emerged from another era (not so old, though). Axial-fixed 2-piston calipers. What's that? No radial? Are you sure your CBR is a sports bike? Hey, guys! Don't forget that just 10 years ago, not a single bike on the market had radial calipers; not even a 27,000-euro R7.
In this configuration, the calipers are no longer gold-plated but painted black, and the front jaws are fitted with 3 pistons instead of 2.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 21 reviews
driving position not too tiring with a little protection. otherwise, it's super reliable. zero breakdowns, just a major service at 45,000 kms and annual oil changes. chain kit still original at 46,000 kms. aesthetically, it's as good as new. honestly, it's hard to find better these days.
we're going to find a few minor faults, though; fairing that vibrates a little at low speed, fuel pump that can make a strange noise when the ignition is switched on. original seat that could be more comfortable. she's still got a good year ahead of her. Rating : 5/5 Respond to flor106
If you're looking for a bike with two faces: very smooth at low revs (or even hollow), and demonic at high revs, this is the bike for you
The engine produces 102hp (not adjustable for A2), and is a derivative of the CBR600RR engine, a little deflated, hence its ON/OFF character
The chassis is super-sound, a rail in the bends
I used it to discover the track, and it does the job perfectly. Just remember to harden the suspension and change the original tires, which don't grip well in dry conditions
For everyday riding, it's also very good. Don't be fooled by its sporty looks, the handlebar brace is not restrictive, and the steering angle is as good as a classic mid-size roadster (even better than the GSR and other sporty derivatives). The 4-cylinder engine is phenomenally smooth, and you'll be able to cruise at 70 at the bottom of a 6 without any vibration. A BM calling your name? Drop 4 gears and fire it up in bottom of 2 at over 140
For the freeway, the fairings offer welcome protection (not like the Hornet!), provided you position yourself correctly
Bought at 8,000kms, now 12,000, reliability is excellent, after all, it's a puncture-proof engine (Hornet)
To sum up: a bike that does everything well, without excelling in any particular field. If you want versatility, this is the bike for you
For the track, go for a 600RR (or competitor)
And for the city, a roadster will still be more practical. Rating : 4/5 Respond to ARtbl
The chassis is sound and allows you to ride very fast, but on a winding track, as the suspension is excessively soft (I race on the road with a hypersportive...perhaps that explains it).
I love this unpretentious little bike, which does its job imperceptibly well, even when riding fast (hypersport tires are compulsory), provided you work hard. Rating : 4/5 Respond to chrisnowatt
Perfect for getting to grips with (while keeping your head on your shoulders), or for gradually switching to a sportbike. This bike doesn't go unnoticed, especially in its red and white livery (a must-have), and it's rare on our roads.
Choose a model with a comfortable seat and high bubble.
A superb opportunity at around 5500â'¬ - 6000â'¬.
The ABS is not intrusive, and reassures when needed, but it does rip your arms off above 8,000 rpm.
In short, it's a real pleasure to ride, with no real competition in the form of the ER6-F or GSX-F. Rating : 5/5 Respond to fab75
great protection for my 1.75 with the high bubble, great ergonomics with its well-positioned straps.
too expensive new, but an excellent bargain used. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Neroon
In short, a versatile, non-exclusive motorcycle with sufficient power and good looks.
Rating : 4/5 Respond to Théo
It's comfortable to ride and lets you attack as you please.
It's apt and relatively comfortable as a duo.
I think it looks great in red and white or full black.
It has a modern, sleek look with a touch of aggressiveness.
And finally, her appetite is very measured.
In short, a convinced user who's delighted with his choice.
Good luck to all. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Daav05
On this kind of engine, the compromise is not interesting! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Slik Fullgaz
no need for performance and no need to be at 13000rpm all the time like on a real CBR. on the other hand much better protection and more suitable for travel than the Hornet, a good compromise
still, I find the price a bit steep, €2,000 more than a 2011 Hornet (€6,500 and €7,000 with ABS) Rating : 5/5 Respond to chtit
personally, I like this kind of bike with an intermediate riding position, half sporty and half GT Rating : 5/5 Respond to LIL21
