presentation of the CBR 600 F 2013

it's the return of one of the most emblematic sports bikes in the history of the 600. We're gradually forgetting that, before being a pure pistarde, the CBR 600 was F before it was RR. The market was looking for radical machines, which precipitated the end of the F series. Introduced in 1987 as the standard-bearer of a much-praised category, it came to a confidential end in 2006. a mere 23,000 units sold in France were not enough to ensure its continued existence... until 2011, when the CBR 600 F was reborn.

After all, how many times has it been said that a modern track bike is no longer fit for the road? Demanding, uncomfortable, sharp, expensive, exclusive, these models were all about the track and the lap time, not your back. The CBR 600 F was something else. A sports bike that could be used every day, capable of road and sport riding, just like the Yamaha 600 Thundercat. But the public wants the dream, the exceptional. So we give it to them.
Could it be that the times are slowing down? That would explain the reappearance of the CBR 600 F. It's based on the same ideas as before. And that's a good thing. These values are reflected in the shape of the bodywork, which is sporty but not too sporty. The Honda Rome design office was responsible for this silhouette, based on multi-layer design. But I don't find the CBR soul, that symbol of Honda sport. I get the impression that it's wearing a dress for which it wasn't intended. Could this CBR not be one?

Honda CBR 600 F 2013Its real name could have been CBR 600 Hornet... Murmurs from the audience. Calm down! And take a closer look, remove the fairing. Indeed, underneath, it's a Hornet, with its aluminum Monobackbone frame (shit, no more double-beam perimeter) and mellowed-out engine. Still, its mechanicals have a fine pedigree. The 4-cylinder actually returns to its origins, as it's a 2007 CBR 600 RR mill just adapted for roadster use. And 100 horsepower is more than enough to have fun on a sporty 600 - you can even scare yourself when you're being silly. Above all, it's a great way to discover the sport. When I was young, my favorite magazine implied that the CBR 600 was practically a motorcycle-sports school.
Its specific mapping, far less exclusive than necessary for a racing bike, should give it more roundness and responsiveness. Those who are tired of living between 13,000 and 15,000 rpm are starting to listen.

Honda CBR 600 F 2013 - 1Honda CBR 600 F 2013 - 1

Based on the Hornet roadster, the CBR 600 F opus 2011 - 2013 will offer very similar handling. Its backbone frame and less radical geometry will take you away from the speeding spirit and give you a more road-like ride at speed. The 41 mm inverted fork will seem perfectly innocuous, while the brake calipers will seem to have emerged from another era (not so old, though). Axial-fixed 2-piston calipers. What's that? No radial? Are you sure your CBR is a sports bike? Hey, guys! Don't forget that just 10 years ago, not a single bike on the market had radial calipers; not even a 27,000-euro R7.
In this configuration, the calipers are no longer gold-plated but painted black, and the front jaws are fitted with 3 pistons instead of 2.

as an everyday sports bike, the new CBR 600 F features raised half-handlebars to relieve pressure on the grips. The passenger seat is more welcoming, and it's even possible to fit a U-shaped seat under the saddle. It's equipped with a new, fully digital instrument panel, HISS coded immobilizer and softer suspension than the CBR 600 RR (which makes sense...). By the way, who was it who said that history is always beginning again?

French Rene Model 2012
Acquired a short time ago, I've discovered a bike that's small and light for its performance, with good comfort, just what I wanted. I was nostalgic for my zzr600 and my zx6r combined. With this civilized Cbr, I've got a condensed version of both, lighter than the zzr and sportier, a bit like the zx6r. It's a 600 4-cylinder engine, so there's no secret what to expect. Once the engine is warmed up, the bike is easy to use, and in the end very versatile in use, easy to handle, easy to ride thanks to the supple engine, the braking to match, the engine braking, not pushing the crime low in the revs. And if you need to get out of a tight spot or need to overtake, the engine shows its raging character to great effect. Less additive than the kawas, the Cbr600f enjoys good protection thanks to a well-designed fairing and an extraordinary engine that enables long-distance travel without too much vibration, with good suspension and roadholding. The last representative of the era of conciliatory sports bikes, this is a motorcycle for connoisseurs. Perhaps the only criticism is that the gearbox could be quicker and more pleasant. Rating : 5/5
French Rene Model 2012
My first few hundred kilometers on this rather small bike, like an old 1996 Zx6R, were filled with nostalgia for these small, light yet powerful 4-cylinders, with their excellent ride and sporty feel. In a way, I've come full circle, even if I'd still be ready to appreciate other good bikes. In any case, the compromise here is an interesting one, with good comfort and protection, good brakes even without the abs, and a bike that's easy to ride in town thanks to its smooth, powerful engine on roads and freeways. It can even be ridden as a duo, provided the sds are not too imposing. Rating : 5/5
tout simplement parfaite
French flor106 Model 2011
i've been riding it for 13 years now, and i never tire of it. technically, it's a super-smooth engine (in 6th gear at 50, it picks up without flinching), but it's also very responsive above 7,000 rpm. exemplary roadholding, braking up to scratch.
driving position not too tiring with a little protection. otherwise, it's super reliable. zero breakdowns, just a major service at 45,000 kms and annual oil changes. chain kit still original at 46,000 kms. aesthetically, it's as good as new. honestly, it's hard to find better these days.
we're going to find a few minor faults, though; fairing that vibrates a little at low speed, fuel pump that can make a strange noise when the ignition is switched on. original seat that could be more comfortable. she's still got a good year ahead of her.

Unique en son genre
French ARtbl Model 2012
A bike that perfectly delivers on its promises
If you're looking for a bike with two faces: very smooth at low revs (or even hollow), and demonic at high revs, this is the bike for you
The engine produces 102hp (not adjustable for A2), and is a derivative of the CBR600RR engine, a little deflated, hence its ON/OFF character
The chassis is super-sound, a rail in the bends
I used it to discover the track, and it does the job perfectly. Just remember to harden the suspension and change the original tires, which don't grip well in dry conditions
For everyday riding, it's also very good. Don't be fooled by its sporty looks, the handlebar brace is not restrictive, and the steering angle is as good as a classic mid-size roadster (even better than the GSR and other sporty derivatives). The 4-cylinder engine is phenomenally smooth, and you'll be able to cruise at 70 at the bottom of a 6 without any vibration. A BM calling your name? Drop 4 gears and fire it up in bottom of 2 at over 140
For the freeway, the fairings offer welcome protection (not like the Hornet!), provided you position yourself correctly
Bought at 8,000kms, now 12,000, reliability is excellent, after all, it's a puncture-proof engine (Hornet)

To sum up: a bike that does everything well, without excelling in any particular field. If you want versatility, this is the bike for you
For the track, go for a 600RR (or competitor)
And for the city, a roadster will still be more practical.

Super bike, bought for 4000â'¬ at 26000kms, I love riding it. Rating : 5/5
French chrisnowatt Model 2011
great bike for everyday riding, very reliable and economical. With a high bubble, good protection despite my 1.82m height, easy to handle in town.
The chassis is sound and allows you to ride very fast, but on a winding track, as the suspension is excessively soft (I race on the road with a hypersportive...perhaps that explains it).
I love this unpretentious little bike, which does its job imperceptibly well, even when riding fast (hypersport tires are compulsory), provided you work hard.

Excellente
French fab75 Model 2012
Excellent bike, my first and at 18,000kms nothing to report. The finish is far superior to the CBR 650 F, as are the roadholding qualities, with a fully adjustable inverted fork. Insurance is at the same price as the Hornet, a very good point.
Perfect for getting to grips with (while keeping your head on your shoulders), or for gradually switching to a sportbike. This bike doesn't go unnoticed, especially in its red and white livery (a must-have), and it's rare on our roads.
Choose a model with a comfortable seat and high bubble.
A superb opportunity at around 5500â'¬ - 6000â'¬.
The ABS is not intrusive, and reassures when needed, but it does rip your arms off above 8,000 rpm.
In short, it's a real pleasure to ride, with no real competition in the form of the ER6-F or GSX-F.

it's just a hornet with clothes, and yet it changes everything.
great protection for my 1.75 with the high bubble, great ergonomics with its well-positioned straps.
too expensive new, but an excellent bargain used.
Rating : 5/5
Very good bike for every day and also for fun on Sundays, from 8000 rpm it pushes as hard as a 750. I have a 2012, 9000km in 4 months, not a single problem Rating : 4/5
French bilroth Model 2012
bought at the end of september 2012, the first handling is bluffing, a very good reactivity of the engine at low rpm on higher gears, comfortable and light, what do people ask for? Rating : 4/5
after a gsxf 650, an impression of lightness...and it turns from happiness....attention to the license..otherwise everything else is fine Rating : 4/5
French Théo Model 2012
Purchased in 2011 and fully satisfied. Sporty, but not too sporty. It's comfortable to ride, and the driving position isn't exclusively on the handlebars. On the racetrack, it's very playful...above 8500 rpm, as the engine is a bit hollow at mid-range. The original tires are very satisfactory. Braking is powerful and the ABS effective. The ground clearance is a little tight, so I planed the footrests on the track. But then, this isn't a bike made for touring in the first place.
In short, a versatile, non-exclusive motorcycle with sufficient power and good looks.
Rating : 4/5
French Daav05 Model 2011
Having ridden a roadster and a super sport, I find this bike perfect for me (sporty - touring).
It's comfortable to ride and lets you attack as you please.
It's apt and relatively comfortable as a duo.
I think it looks great in red and white or full black.
It has a modern, sleek look with a touch of aggressiveness.
And finally, her appetite is very measured.
In short, a convinced user who's delighted with his choice.
Good luck to all.

I like these CBR-Fs, and it's a good thing they're coming back in 2011, because there's not a lot of choice in the 600 sport/street bike segment... Rating : 5/5
French Slik Fullgaz Model 2011
What can you say about a sports bike that isn't a sports bike? Useful for getting used to the handlebars and getting your hands dirty before tackling a super sport? In my opinion, it's the wrong choice, as it's very quickly disappointing! More comfortable than a pure sports bike? Then you might as well go for the hornet and save 2,000 euros!
On this kind of engine, the compromise is not interesting!

bland bike!!! and way too expensive for 1 hornet s! avoid! Rating : 5/5
French zx7rrr Model 2011
the fairing is minimalist, it's a fake fairing, honda is screwing with us! too expensive bike, because it's just a hornet dressed up (and it's too obvious!). in short, my '95 vfr 750 is a real sport tourer, not like this erzast 600 hornet vulgarly dressed up. they're really screwing with the biker's head!( don't buy this crap!!!) Rating : 5/5
French mth640
@zx7rrr, your comment sucks, you don't like it that's one thing, but "don't buy this piece of crap" really reflects your ignorance and stupidity. And in this case, I'd like to say "don't listen to this crap", because you're talking nonsense. in the 600 range, you want a sports car: the cbr600rr, a roadster with character: the 600 hornet, a more cushy roadster: the 600 cbf, and a sport gt cbr600f. that's all. the competition has nothing better to offer. thank you honda Rating : 5/5
French chtit Model 2011
of course it's just a hornet dressed up as chris says, but frankly it's almost perfect for some people like me
no need for performance and no need to be at 13000rpm all the time like on a real CBR. on the other hand much better protection and more suitable for travel than the Hornet, a good compromise
still, I find the price a bit steep, €2,000 more than a 2011 Hornet (€6,500 and €7,000 with ABS)

personally, I like this kind of bike with an intermediate riding position, half sporty and half GT
