presentation of the GL 1800 GOLDWING F6B 40me anniversaire 2015
honda's take on the Bagger is called F6B. Or, more poetically, a Goldwing cabriolet (a fine metaphor for a colleague) offering opulence bordering on prestige, with an unmistakable flat 6 as company organ.
With this special series, the F6B celebrates 40 years of career and nobility for the most famous of GTs. The equipment is enriched by special commemorative parts.
the F6B lacked something important, especially given the sheer mass of the machine: reverse gear. This is now standard equipment. A small electric motor, activated by a button on the right-hand switchgear, assists you when reversing. Honda also supplies a cruise control. Given the vehicle's vocation and price, this feature could have been fitted as standard when the F6B was launched...
To mark the occasion, this machine comes with a series of "40th anniversary" badges. The color chosen, taciturn to a fault, lacks gaiety for this occasion; I hear it offers a subtle, relaxed presence.
genesis:
half-Goldwing half-custom... Is this possible? What tuner would dare attempt such a challenge? Can we even contemplate stripping the Japanese golden bird, when its very raison d'être is excess and the culmination of Grand Touring motorcycling?
It's possible, it's called the F6B, and Honda has done it.
insane! But that's not all. Japan's biggest manufacturer doesn't venture off the beaten track without a good reason. Here, it's the American market that's talking, and a growing trend for baggers; you know, that mix of GT and custom, where the road is only conceivable with a pair of suitcases, a windscreen and style. The F6B is based on the same principle: a stripped-down Goldwing that retains only the essentials, namely a piece of windscreen at the top of the forkhead and a set of panniers. Bye-bye to the big windscreen, the top case, the passenger seat and footboards, the senatorial seat, the heated seat, the auto indicator reminder, and the optional GPS and airbag. That's a lot less clutter, and the weight is reduced by 28 kilos and the price by around 6,000 euros.
Sleeker, almost airy, this Goldwing light features a new seat, footrests and passenger grips, newly designed side panels, and retains its USB, iPod, MP3-compatible audio system.
the F6B sets itself apart from all other baggers: in addition to its affiliation with the most majestic of GTs, it's also the only one with a 6-cylinder engine. Inimitable smoothness, suppleness and availability, perfect for lifting 384 kilos with enchantment. Its 118 hp are nothing exceptional (BMW's inline 6 1600 produces 160 hp), but its roundness and pleasantness are of a pedigree of majesty. The F6B's behavior is very similar to that of the Goldwing, as neither the engine nor the chassis have been modified. The super-bagger boasts first-rate technical equipment, with its aluminum perimeter frame, 45 mm forks with anti-dive systemaBS brakes with 2 x 296 mm front discs, a 316 mm rear disc and 3-piston calipers.

Super, super bike.
You can cruiser and if you have to send it, it's the bomb.
On the downside, the original windshield protection is a bit tight, and not having reverse gear means you have to plan your maneuvers carefully, unless you're Sébastion Chabal, or Davis Douillet.....
The reverse gear on the 2015 model is certainly very welcome..... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Riton le phocé
