presentation of the CB 1100 2015
the CB 1100 hasn't waited for time and schedules to update itself. Released in 2013, this more vintage than nostalgic roadster listened to the opinions of its first owners. It informed Honda, asked for a few small improvements, and hastened to share them with customers in 2014 and beyond. On the menu for this update is a sixth gear that creeps into the gearbox. It's similar to an overdrive, and reduces engine speed and fuel consumption.
The instrumentation gains a gear indicator and a range indicator, while the headlight is raised by 25 mm. New turn signals complete the update.
is there a place for a big neo-retro roadster in our high-tech world? Yes, and more than ever. So it will be a real pleasure to see the CB 1100 on the road - a modern reinterpretation of the famous 1969 CB 750 Four. An old-fashioned motorcycle, both in style and technology. It exudes an authentic, nostalgic fragrance that makes you want to indulge yourself. You'd think it was made in the '70s and jealously guarded by a dealer in a stuffy cellar, only to bring it back to Europe today. I specify Europe, because this CB 1100 has already been available in Japan for several years. In short, it's half a novelty, but we like it just the way it is.
the CB 1100 is pure vintage, with today's quality and methods. It's a veritable croc-en-jambe to modern motorcycles, with aluminum frames, abundant digital functions, horsepower galore and over-excited styling.
The Honda plays elsewhere, with emotion, serenity and a longing for the beauty of yesteryear. An attractive round headlight, chrome mudguards, instrumentation with needle-type meters, a flat seat, two side shocks, a beautiful tank with no gimmicks or appendages - it's an ode to the timeless.
Technically speaking, the CB 1100 is enough to provoke violent spats between vintage enthusiasts and fans of progress. The bike is built on the basics, ignoring the overkill that is rampant from streetfighter to hypersport. And it's a pleasure to ride. With such a silhouette, it's impossible to imagine anything other than this: an ultra-classic double-cradle steel frame, a 41 mm-diameter non-inverted fork, a swingarm that couldn't be more basic, a muffler that looks like a muffler, narrow tires (110 and 140) on 18-inch rims, and the heart of this bike: an air-cooled four-cylinder.
Ah yes, fins, rattles all over the place once the ignition is switched off, a mirific piece of engineering to behold. How many of these 4-leggers still refuse the multiple benefits of coolant? Apart from the Yamaha XJR 1300, you won't find any multicylinder that smells of rock, hot, Pink Floyd, jeans and pills.
this engine seems full of charm, even if its specs are light years ahead of a modern block. 1140 cm3 of metal for less than 90 horsepower at output... derisory. But who cares about power? What interests us are its cooling fins, which are only 2 mm thick, the thinnest in the history of the Honda range. It's the retro look of the cylinder head, whose curves follow the camshafts and central timing chain. Yet this mill is no antique. It's been equipped to pass anti-pollution standards, and its cooling has been optimized with an additional 335 mm oil cooler.
When the curves reveal stratospheric revs to slam outrageous efficiency on the latest pugnacious roadsters, the CB 1100's engine will respond with a much more present availability in everyday use: maximum power is obtained at 7,500 rpm, and torque even earlier, at 5,000 rpm.
the CB 1100 is a beautiful bike, vintage as we like it, and very welcome indeed. With a little bit of the 750 Four's soul, it will unleash waves of emotion. But this will come at a price: we're dealing with a Premium product, and the price for this kind of category is generally far from the most affordable from a manufacturer. But what class!

And yet its very contemporary mechanics convey a flawless riding pleasure that has no reason to be ashamed of the competition, quite the contrary...
We wish you all a pleasant ride, and hope to see you soon on one of our bucolic outings! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bobo
Just looking at it, I'm already smitten, as I already own a 2009 Honda CBF 600 N with 41,000 kms. In short.
I don't want to change for the moment my 600 is more than enough for me, but when I saw the CB 1100 the temptation was great, but for the moment like many people, the bottoms are not available for the moment.
I've only rated it out of 4, because of its fuel tank, which I find derisory at 14.6 litres, whereas the 2014 is 22 liters with reserve.
And its 5 gearbox instead of the 6 on the 2014.
Otherwise, I give it a TOP rating.
It reminds me of my CB 750 Four that I had in 1983 and it's on this Fours series base that this beautiful reincarnation was made.
wink to all enthusiasts of the genre, and big V to all motorcyclists. Rating : 4/5 Respond to laulau
it's a shame honda didn't release a more retro version in early 2013 .you'll have to pay for the options
my exhaust has 5000 kms, my tailpipes are not shiny anymore
they're brown with black streaks
in short, it's not pretty

Since then, I've done 500 kilometers, and nothing but happiness. I spotted it in various motorcycle magazines in 2009, and got a huge flash...
I knew it would be on sale in March... And it was out of curiosity (I swear!!!) that I walked through the door of the dealer at the end of March... And the salesman, seeing the slime on the floor, simply invited me to climb on and !!! And now it's mine... Rating : 5/5 Respond to berny

Suspension banged like hell
hollow engine, nothing at the bottom and .... nothing at the top either!
i couldn't believe how much less peachy it was than my 650 bandit all over, I think there must have been a big problem with the engine, but what?
The WORST thing is that now I'm a bit tall and my knees are touching the top of the engine! So it burns! INCREDIBLE for a bike of this price !!!
i really don't see what justifies this price considering it's nothing more than my 5000 euros bike or even less !!!
a real piece of crap!!!

We hadn't seen one since the revolutionary 750 of 1968, and its rivals, which later became "goldorak" machines or, more recently, "transformers"!
or, more recently, transformers!
I admit that aesthetics are an integral part of a motorcycle, and I'm fed up with these flashy machines.
It's true that it would have looked better with 4 pots and spokes, but that comes at a cost that can put a damper on the passion of some of us, in these lean times

This bike seems to excite a lot of motorcyclists, but it seems that some Honda dealers have little interest in the cb1100.

Well done to Honda's engineers, who've done a great job, and for me it looks more like the legendary Honda CBX1000, with its half fairing.
I myself ride a 2009 Honda cbf 600, and I only ride Honda bikes and cars.
And thank you again to the Japanese firm for this new 2013 gift which I think was awaited in the catalogs by a large number of bikers of this famous mythical motorcycle.
Thank you Motoplanete to share with us such a beautiful moment.
Sincerely yours. Rating : 5/5 Respond to laulau79
same weight, same kind of chassis, very similar handling except for the brakes and the engine (Bulldozer), which is extraordinary, and it's very comfortable even for two people.
It's true that it's the noise of the 4 hm300 exhausts that I miss the most, but you won't find it with this CB 1100 Four 4 in 1.
I think I'd find it hard to leave my XJR for this beautiful CB 1100 Four.
Anyway, I'll give this CB a try, you never know ....

And a very well-written article, which spoils nothing.
One small error to be corrected on the diagram: it's a double disc at the front and not a single disc (the 3 discs are mentioned in the body of the text). Rating : 5/5 Respond to Monick
I'm ordering it from Santa Claus (in red) as my second machine, but he'll have to dig deep to find the money!
Ride with caution and discernment!

Price will be the real key to the machine's success, and I'm convinced that the starting price, excluding options, must not exceed the psychological 10,000-euro mark.
And at that price, I'm likely to put my bm up for sale ;-)) Rating : 4/5 Respond to bri2
