presentation of the CB 1100 RS Final Edition 2021

The first CB 750 ushered in a new era for motorcycles; half a century later, its distant descendant, the CB 1100, leaves the scene. With this departure, it almost signals the end of large air-cooled engines. The 4-legged finned motorcycle had its hours of glory, but the Final Edition allows us to say goodbye with gusto

The RS has long been the CB's dynamic bent. A more dynamic chassis, stiffer suspension, more gniak in the brakes, a more alert riding position and a few kilos less weight make it a more toned lady. Without being sporty...it's still a bourgeois roadster for 90 grunts.

For this latest production run, Honda has incorporated a few details to (slightly) underline its difference. Sober colors, bronze-colored rims, a brown seat, a stripe on the tank and a night-time treatment for certain parts.
The RS had already had its engine coated in black for some time. The final edition offers a few more dark bits, for the suspension components, brake calipers, blinker caps, footpeg plates and airbox side plates.

But what really lets us know that we're looking at the der' of the 1100s with air, is the little badge at the top of the tank. Almost too discreet, with so much history behind it.

This machine doesn't conclude the big, wind-chilled engines. BM, Ducati, Guzzi, Harley, Triumph, Indian... But they're all twins. This 4-cylinder marks the end of an era - its CB becomes a frontier between two eras. With a certain sense of sport, while the EX sibling concludes on a solemn note. Only available in Japan and some Asian countries.
