Here we are at the top of the Indian range. The Roadmaster Elite looks down on the road, on standing, and on other GTs, confident in its presence after having groomed itself with a great deal of prestige. In the drawers and desires of the Springfield-based brand, there's no more expensive, no bigger, no more torquey or displacement-rich(but there is more powerful). Touring embraces the apogee with this particularly meticulous limited series.

This bike exudes strength and rare scope, in the canons of a classy, classic road vessel. Against all expectations, it abandons the modern lines of its predecessor, the Elite, to reappropriate the more retro streamliner-style lines of the standard Roadmaster. The result is more curves, the return of wheel skirts, and a desire for patinated exuberance.

Under the sign of luxury

The 2024 edition was tempted by black, from the pots to the cylinder heads. The Elite 2025 returns to chrome, distributed in abundance throughout the bike. This allows the big twin Thunderstroke 116 to take most of the splendor on board. Enthusiasts will also be swept away by the sublime triple-tone paintwork, blending Springfield Factorty blue with patches of Candy black and a few territories of grey; all enhanced by hand-painted gold piping. What a look! You can't help but admire it.

With this Elite, Indian has pushed the notion of comfort as far as it can. The superb seat is heated and refreshing. A dozen speakers pump out 600 watts of sound. Passengers will enjoy armrests in addition to the generous top-case, which completes the comfort package by resting their backs on beautifully presented upholstery. The rider will also be spoiled for choice, with heated grips, an electrically adjustable windscreen, a view of a cockpit worthy of an American road movie, and the privilege of mastering the enormous 1890 cm3 twin-cylinder engine.

Master.... Via three Driving Modes, which give the engine a more or less hardened character. Always impressive and overflowing, it seems frozen in time like a column from the Parthenon. Its power reaches 17.4 mkg at just 2,900 rpm. Suffice it to say that every bowl takes pleasure in lifting everything, with plenty of power in all circumstances. Even so, the 417 kg of weight make it hard to get carried away.

Dose of American-style equipment

The Roadmaster Elite also comes with 160 liters of luggage space (lockable by remote control), Pathfinder adaptive cornering light, large (adjustable) driver and passenger footboards, multimedia console with 178 mm screen / GPS / radio / smartphone pairing / Bluetooth / Apple CarPlay, USB and 12 V ports, tire pressure control, cruise control, rear cylinder deactivation to prevent overheating, large crash bars to limit damage, keyless ignition.. phew.

Did you notice that series of numbers at the bottom of the center console? As you may have guessed, that's the number of the limited series. 300 Indian Roadmaster Elite units worldwide; and only 60 outside America. In other words, France should have 4 or 5, give or take.
