presentation of the 1811 CHIEFTAIN Elite 2018
Second edition for the Indian Chieftain Elite. The iconic American manufacturer has recently caught the luxury bug. Is it to compete with Milwaukee in the CVO arena?
Whatever the case, this posh version of the bagger ups the ante and the taste for opulence. This special Elite series moves it into the premium + clan.
it makes a statement, right from the start. Last season's heavily crimsoned exterior now looks like it was carved from white marble. In addition to its true-to-America size, the Chieftain Elite impresses with its extensive paintwork. A desire to make the bike unique, as every step is carried out by hand - 25 hours of work for the decoration alone. A strong impression of quality emanates from the whole, while allowing the enormous engine to shine through. Style and mechanics explode before the eyes, complementary and detached at the same time. Fans will appreciate it without restraint, and judge the impertinence of the front end with sympathy or outrage.
Like the new-generation bow on certain models, this Chieftain abandons its typical front mudguard, covering the wheel as much as possible. Instead, a classic cap is fitted over the wheel, whose diameter is 19 inches instead of 16. In keeping with its status as a heavy-duty tourer, the Elite is all about comfort, with cruise control, keyless ignition, tire pressure monitoring and remote luggage locking, among other features.
the Elite is also distinguished by a series of special features, such as aluminum running boards, all-LED lightingand to make the most of the Ride Command entertainment system, the sound system has been upgraded to 200 watts.
The Black Hills Silver color scheme tells a story. It refers to the Black Hills silver mines in South Dakota, near the town of Spearfish - home of Indian's custom paint shop.
Almost enough to distract your gaze from the majestic 1811 cm3. It should be pointed out that this block has benefited from an update since the end of 2017 to gain in power. An extra 15 hp and more than 1 mkg is quite something. A 21% increase, enabling the twin to now claim 84 hp and 150 Nm of torque (15.3 mkg).
Produced in limited editions, the American motorcycle wants to be desired. This Chieftain Elite is a real looker, both in terms of its engine and its looks!
