presentation of the KX 450 50ème anniversaire 2024
The 450 KX celebrates the anniversary of its dynasty with this 50th Anniversary color. Motocross itself began a little earlier for Kawasaki, with the TR 250, also known as the F11 in the early 1970s. But it was in 1974 that the name KX was introduced. Since then, the KX has racked up a string of titles and victories: 63 American motocross and AMA motocross supercross championships, 720 race wins, and a number of famous names behind the wheel. Stefan Everts, Sebastian Tortelli, Mickael Maschio, Christophe Pourcel, Courtney Duncan, Jeff Ward, Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Eli Tomac have all pushed the KX to its limits.
For the decoration, Kawa drew on memories of the 90s with calligraphy and hues from that era. The same goes for the blue saddle, all of which adds a touch of sparkle to a set that looks like something out of a pop-rock album featuring Michael Jackson, Genesis, Benny B, U2, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Madonna....
A "Uni-track" sticker on the swingarm is a reminder of the rear suspension system invented by Kawa in 1979.
The 50th Anniversary KX 450 also features slots for inscribing racing numbers, a field in which it has been a delight for so many years.
Apart from this revival color scheme, the KX doesn't offer any additional equipment or a sharper preparation. But there's plenty of fun to be had with one of the most docile bikes on the market.
