presentation of the VERSYS 650 2010
the Versys is one of the most atypical machines around, as difficult to categorize as the TDM. A mix of roadster and trail bike, disconcerting at first glance, then incredibly effective. Underneath this strange exterior lies a great deal of versatility. There was no need to touch it up. And yet...
for 2010, the Versys has been given a makeover. It got a new headlight support, a more angular fork head with special cheeks, larger radiator scoops, a different exhaust tip and a modified rear shell. The rear-view mirrors have been improved to give better rear-view vision, and Kawa has thought about improving comfort when riding a duo. New accessories are also planned. And finally, this little facelift won't go amiss, as the new Ducati 796 Hypermotard could put a spanner in the works, even though it's aimed at a sportier clientele.

and I'm amazed at how easy it is to ride.
on twisty roads it's a queen.
i find the gearbox a little hard and the sixth a little short.
a great bike Rating : 5/5 Respond to dom
On the negative side: it's a bit sluggish (a more overdrive-like 6th would have been welcome), it's very sensitive to suspension settings, and unanimously among my friends and especially friendsEs... it's ugly! I ended up selling it for a bike with more "value"... but what a kick it was to ride it in the Vosges! I highly recommend it, give it a try. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Nico
I've now reached 70,000 km, and the only repairs I've made are the fork seal, the brake disc and 3 chain kits.
The bike is easy and pleasant to ride except as a duo, and the shock absorber is difficult to adjust
I'm going to try the tracer but I'll probably go back to a Versys 650 or 1000. Rating : 4/5 Respond to jfu
Does anyone know and could inform me on what would cost me to make brider a versys model 2010?
Thanks in advance for your answers! Rating : 4/5 Respond to boboss
On mountain roads, it's very comfortable and quick thanks to its torque.
It tends to bend quite easily if you rush it.
I'm very happy with it. Rating : 4/5 Respond to SysD
thank you Rating : 5/5 Respond to claudec
It's my second bike...personally I find it really versatile. Easy to handle in town, enough watts to have fun (maybe not enough in the mountains as a duo).
I rode Corsica as a duo and loaded up...it was perfect.
In short, I don't regret my choice ;) Rating : 4/5 Respond to benito
My son has just got his A2 licence and is thinking of buying a Versys ABS from June 2011
Can anyone confirm if this model is 48hp?

In reply to rene. I've had an A2 licence for 1 and a half years. I have a Versys 650, year 2009, clamped in 34hp (now unclamped). No insurance problem for this clamp! Other than that, Versys is a really torquey bike at low revs, even at 34hp, compared with the er6 and xj6. Otherwise, it's a really great bike for all types of use. I've already clocked up 10,000 kms in 11 months. Really maneuverable bike, even in traffic (well, I've had bikes since I'm used to them). Otherwise, I don't have any of the "vibrations" that mike and others have, even at 185 kph. I have no problem sticking the Z750 or gsr 750 in acceleration. The only drawback for me is fuel consumption: I'm the only one not to exceed 200-220kms on a full tank. Otherwise, braking needs to be a little harder (I don't mind, as I started out on a gpz 500, which braked very badly). It's a bike I'm sure I'll keep for a long time. Inexpensive insurance, 40 euros at macif for a young rider with 1 year's experience. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
This bike is simply amazing in terms of handling, engine liveliness and seat comfort. A 37-liter top case is more than enough for me, and the absence of a center stand is well compensated for by the original central exhaust.
Negatives (and there are some): no temperature or gear indicator, and no 12-volt socket. Too bad Rating : 4/5 Respond to HRC
the seat is a little high for 1m 73, even with the low seat option (no difference).
the rear tire is slipping a bit and I'm going to change it Rating : 4/5 Respond to Titib
Negative: vibrates a little on the first version.

very low maintenance budget arssouille rating great to try! Rating : 5/5 Respond to mario
The engine is full-bodied and power is really available throughout the 3,000 to 9,000rpm range, but there's no need to go over 7,000rpm as the power is still there. Comfort is really good (even in a duo) and the body is slim yet reassuringly robust. It's easy to handle, and even if the twin-cylinder remains a little rough, it's very accessible to ride; even a little too much so, so beware for novices, it seems easy, but still sends out a lot of power.Between 80 and 130km/h, it can hold its own against 20hp bikes with no trouble at all. The price of a new bike is admittedly exaggerated, but second-hand bikes can really be had for unbeatable prices. In my opinion, this is the best of the MIDsize trail range! I got mine for 3500â'¬ for 14500km (with ABS).
The only real fault would be the brakes, which lack attack, spoiling the feel a little, but nothing serious. I'm going to keep mine a little longer :-) Rating : 4/5 Respond to Chatnoir09
