presentation of the VERSYS 650 2009
theER-6 is becoming quite a family... and since Kawasaki has been determined for the past 2 years to blow our minds, they used this excellent base to prepare one of their house cocktails based on "tention les yeux", "ça va bousculer grave", and a little "z'ont pété un plomb". This beverage is the new VERSYS.

Wait a minute, you think that's all it stands for...!?! But take a close look at this ebullient little machine that's ready to give piston thrusts in the midst of FMX, XT-X, Multistrada, V-Strom, Transalp, Pegaso, and the list goes on. From the front, it's a cyborg straight out of Dragon Ball. From the side, it's the same structure as theER-6n, with a number of improvements. Multi-adjustable upside-down forks with long travel (you can smell the steering in the air), banana-type swingarm on the right and reinforced on the left, modified radiator shrouds, a new front end and a new rear end.modified radiator shrouds, trellis linking the rear frame to the center plates to accommodate the passenger footrests (this gives the bike a certain cachet), and a more prominent engine cowling... Add to this new shoulders creating an original fork head, an adjustable bubble, a new dashboard and a 2-piece seat. A very interesting and successful machine.
Like theER-6, the VERSYS is powered by a 650 cm3 parallel twin. Unfortunately, we don't yet know how much power this bike promises to deliver. But we have learned that the camshaft profile has been softened, the injection system has been redesigned and we can note the presence of a balancing tube joining the two tubes.all of this is designed to offer greater consistency at all engine speeds, and above all, enhanced feel between 3 and 6,000 rpm. Road handling promises to be exemplary and generous in sensations. We even wonder at MP if the development team didn't work with Kelly Slater, because the Kawasaki VERSYS was born to"tame the road, but also to draw intense satisfaction from it.
Like a surfer attacking a wave, you make the elements your own. The spirit of surfing transposed to the road".
Between the knuckles and in front of the eyes, the instrument panel differs from that of theER-6: wiser, with a simple design but generous in information. The white tachometer background adds a sporty touch, while the red zone points its warning 500 rpm earlier. Safety-conscious riders will be delighted to learn that the petal discs can be reinforced with ABS.
Kawa's words are exciting, and given the fun the brand has been putting into its creations for some time now, we're sure we won't be disappointed.

fort Fait les Alpes en duo 2 costaud dessus je rigole sa monte partout en confort sécurisante cette moto 1 pied a plat l'autre 1 toe 1 ,74 m. Seat height 84 cm, it accelerates hard, knocks a bit under 3000 rpm, but you get used to it. Maintenance not expensive if you do everything motorcycle great everywhere side trail road sport great to drive. Voilà. Chaoo Rating : 4/5 Respond to Alan
Robustly built, you can feel the reliability. This is confirmed by several thousand km without damage
Affordable maintenance, reasonable fuel consumption. Like everyone else, its weak point is its looks, but it's easy to customize to make it more attractive. Rating : 4/5 Respond to greg_wouare
i'm interested in some information on customization. I have the same one and I love it but the look I can't get used to.

With a little hindsight and a few thousand km under my belt, I'm very, very happy with this bike.
Despite its year of production, it's no longer a classic 90s design, but a modern, reliable and robust machine. This twin is a real bomb, despite the 34hp clamping (old clamping kit obliges...). The few adjustments offered on the suspension allow you to find a good compromise without necessarily going for EMC's made-to-measure solutions. Braking is good for solo riding, but less aggressive for a fully loaded duo. The gearbox is light and fast. A few components, such as the backrest/footrest, simply need to be replaced by Versys phase 2 versions to limit vibrations. A wide range of accessories (high bubble, crash bar, hand guards, etc.) are still available on the Internet, allowing you to discover a Versys that's more of a tourer than a sports bike, for the pleasure of a two-up ride.
