presentation of the 750 ZR-7 N 2004
Intended to replace the Zephir, the ZR-7 ensures the continuity of Kawasaki's mid-range roadster category. The greens are setting themselves apart from the competition, who judge only by the 600's. Sandwiched right between theER-5 and the ZRX 1100, the ZR-7 is equipped with a 750cc engine, for a price similar to that of a Bandit. In this sector, the battle against the Fazer, GSF and Hornet is fierce, so we might as well be original. The mechanics are old, appearing to be almost 20 years old, and provide that nostalgic touch that can only be felt when admiring the cooling fins. 2 valves per cylinder - that's it, and all the better for it. In addition to its displacement, which makes it more torquey than its rivals, this 4-cylinder engine is much livelier in the mid-range. Acceleration is also enhanced by the K-tric system, which optimizes ignition. In the low and mid-range, whether driving or on power curves, the Kawa is the clear winner.
To accompany this engine, the chassis is up to the task. The machine is easy to handle, the front end precise and the handling enthusiastic... Curves flow naturally and the pace gradually quickens. In addition to supporting your boots, the footrests act as guard rails. Too much angle and it rubs, but you have to be serious about attacking. At this point, be careful on rough roads, as the rear end can become playful, in a bad way. Take it easy. Grab the brakes, which are progressive and powerful. The rear end is more timid.
A leisurely ride reveals the ZR-7's excellent qualities. Slightly leaning forward, the rider sits comfortably and naturally. Getting around town is child's play. The bike isn't excessively heavy, it steers well, and the flexibility of its engine allows you to flirt with the bottom of the rev counter in all gears. Well-equipped, there's a fuel gauge, room for a U under the seat, tie-down hooks, a center stand... But what a pity that the elegant eccentric chain adjuster has disappeared.
The ZR-7 is a very good deal. Some will find it lacking in charisma, while many will appreciate its simple, playful side. Travelers will opt for the S version, fitted with a graceful, protective fork head.

Old biker I loved, 8 years of practice 84 to 88 and resumed in 2018
Hi Rating : 4/5 Respond to Saint Loup
Heavy at first glance, but that's all: good roadholding, low fuel consumption and confidence, easy to handle in corners, I feel at ease, good pick-up and well-placed acceleration
I've had the S for a year now, and it's here to stay, so I'm delighted Rating : 3/5 Respond to Lloyd
Difficult to start from cold if you're not familiar with it (just like a carburetor).
It's my first bike and yet I've never felt out of my depth with it, even at the very beginning, when I found and still find that it's certainly not a thunderbolt (in full gear though)
9000kms at her side, she knows how to do everything but tows nicely.
Comfort and Royal duo. Rating : 3/5 Respond to Zr-77

Very versatile motorcycle, 80000km on the odometer and still in great shape
Low maintenance costs
lacks a few hp for the sporty side, but very pleasant on a daily basis
for me, it's now a cafe racer with 4 horns, new jets and a z1000 exhaust system
pure joy

the zr-7 is a beast when it comes to handling
after 3 pairs of dead boots...there's no way I can scare myself with this bike, because it's a real chwing-gum.too bad for the top speed, which is a bit low, but anyway, I don't like road cars, which are crap in Belgium anyway.it's got all the makings of a great bike.... Bonne route à tous . Rating : 5/5 Respond to la gosse
I've had my blue zr-7 for 1 year, and I'm not disappointed at all with the results!!!
Good pickup, good torque...to say I can hold fazer 600 , hornet...so it's good...for the ride c impec good position on the bike and when you titillate the handle it starts at quarter turns
I've installed a wheel arch, wheel wiper, F1 titanium mirrors and front and rear indicators. All I need now is a clutch and I'll be good to go
in conclusion, a good bike to start with !!!!

Hi Rating : 5/5 Respond to dav007
apart from saying that this bike is really good, I strongly advise you to put a KN filter, which will allow it to fill the gap it has at start-up. apart from that, don't forget that a real biker is the one who thinks about his safety and that of others (passengers)! come on, good rubber to all... Rating : 5/5 Respond to loicv1
but unfortunately you quickly see its limits in top speed 215 km/h but it's not made for that !!!
with a lot of elbow grease, she's become a little jewel in my hands, but it's hard to find a wind-jump that doesn't break the lines of the bike...despite all that, the girls love it. repainted in ruby red and fitted with an er max and poly 26 fairing kit, plus a reworked zrx 1100 shoe, there are just a few details left to make her perfect. well, we'll never be satisfied...isn't that my biker friends @++ Yopay!!!!(from Reunion 974 ) Rating : 5/5 Respond to yopay
- Expensive maintenance parts compared with Yamaha or Honda, e.g. 52 euros for brake pads!
- Light braking despite double front disc
- Too soft a fork, despite 25W oil
- Perfectible finish, such as the peeling paint on the engine or the shifter, which takes some play - nothing serious, but exasperating for a maniac like me!
- the absence of a temperature gauge (the remedy is to find a mano that screws onto the oil filler cap and requires no connection), I found one from GERICKE!
This bike is still more than pleasant and comfortable to ride, even and especially in a loaded duo, and what's more, it doesn't require a huge insurance budget. My next one? the same! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Thibaud (7
