presentation of the ZRX 1200 R 2006
this version of the ZRX could almost have been called the "Eddie Lawson Replica", as the decoration is in the famous driver's colors. What sets it apart from the other versions is its strange fork head, conjured up from another time. Disconcertingly charming, but nonetheless exhilarating. Say what you like, but a good, big, old-fashioned mill can really give you a thrill! The ZRX follows this philosophy. It even offers a little more, with a bigger engine. The block borrowed from the ZZR 1100 has grown by 112 cm3, the wheelbase has been lengthened, and the big roadster is now available in 3 versions: Naked, R presented here, and S with an imposing, protective half fairing. The ZRX is no small motorcycle. Its size is as imposing as its engine. The 80s Superbike-style double-sided swingarm is superb, and must withstand the onslaught of more than 10 mkg. You don't need a stepladder to climb onto the seat, but you do need a little restraint when it comes to maneuvering this machine. It's easy to maneuver and complaisant in town. Beware of the right-hand handle. It acts like a powder keg. The big 4-cylinder is bursting with power. Sensations are there at the slightest request. A concentrate of character and muscle. A huge dose of extension, a big ladleful of rage, and you get a terribly endearing Kawa cocktail. The chassis doesn't quite live up to this strength when the pace gets sporty.
not particularly light, the machine is a physical machine to corner. As long as the tarmac is of good quality, roadholding is first-rate; it quickly spoils when the DDE has forgotten certain sections. You then have to get out the tools to adjust the suspension (which is everywhere). Finding the ideal balance between comfort and driving rigor is a Chinese puzzle. You'll be more likely to wind up to take advantage of the big boiler's inexhaustible breath of fresh air. The six-piston calipers are remarkably efficient, as is the quality of the finish. Passengers aren't the best off for a ride: the seat is comfortable, but the footrests are far too high. The rider is better cared for, with a roadster position that's slightly forward but not restrictive. In the S version, protection is very good. However, this doesn't make it the companion of choice for long trips: range is just right, and vibrations at steady speed become tiresome over time. It's aimed more at experienced riders who like big, hairy, torquey roadsters.

This bike is a real Swiss Army knife, it can do everything very well, and what an engine... I think Kawa puts bits of Myke Tison in it, it's the only possible explanation... Surely the best against the Bandits, XJR and CB1300, in any case the most fun to ride. I have other (European) bikes in my garage, but the only one that will stay there is this one. I tried and bought my Zrx 1200s
Pfff! Bluffing, great.
Some marketing!
So much better, this way it's less expensive.... And so "alive Rating : 5/5 Respond to Lucan
I changed my Fazer 600 for a bigger model, and I was stuck on the choice. After trying out the xjr and CB 1300s, I settled on a 2003 ZRX 1200, and the liveliness won me over. No feeling of heaviness, but of confidence. And this engine is just amazing! You can go to work on 3rd gear to get a little kick out of it, or just sit back in 5 from 40 to ***km/h. Stretch out a rubber band and hang on to the handlebars. Even in the 100hp version, the watts are there. Come on, only 100,000km to go and I'll change it, I promise. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Toine

I'm on my third (I broke one because of a... well, it's broken). I've found a 1200S, and it's nothing but happiness. I'm 54 years old, I've been riding a VF 1000 FII for a long time (super bike, but no brakes), and with my ZRX I'm back to my youth (in full). A bike which, to my great pleasure, is selling very poorly, and yet...
Bonne route à tous. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Joël 89
i wanted to sell it, but I think I'll keep it... Plus it's like new Rating : 5/5 Respond to Alexmannn
i currently have a triumph sprint RS 955 from 2004 ,,,, super machine that pushes well ,,,,, 300 kms before reserve ,,,,,
BUT ,,, at 60 years old my lumbar vertebrae tickle me ,,,, so as I like it to grow hairy ,,,, reading the tests I think the ZRX would suit me well ,,,,
my hesitation between the 1100 and the 1200 comes from the fuel consumption,,, 5.9 /100 kms for the 1100 (true???) against 7.5/100 for the 1200 careenée ,,,,
and to know if the 1200 S fairing can be mounted on the 1100????
who can help me choose ????
thank you all

I've just restored one as a roadster, and I think I'm going to keep it. It's very versatile, and it's a shame that its rating is so low, it doesn't deserve it.
the engine is just too good in full version (and unbreakable!), the roadholding irreproachable for a 2001 model, in short, I l\'adopte.... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Alexmann

It's a very engaging and easy bike, but not recommended for beginners
It adapts to all riding styles
Fuel consumption is decent for an 1100
The comfort: it's a roadster, but the sensations, what happiness! I changed it for a Teutonic that I sold
Now I'm looking for a ZRX again Rating : 5/5 Respond to killer 67

I'd recommend it to any biker who's never tried a Kawasaki 1200 "I had a 1000 CBR before", I think they'll be surprised...what power and what stability, it's a bike that sends out........ Rating : 5/5 Respond to baltazard
You've got a motorcycle capable of taking you to the ends of the earth in comfort, with the sensations of a sports bike, and above all, compared to some of its half-price rivals!
To be enjoyed without moderation, but with humility... Rating : 5/5 Respond to casoin
It feels great (incredible power at all revs), handles well, but I'm taking it easy
It's pretty easy to get used to, but the suspension is pretty hard to adjust
Who can give me some advice on this, given that I'm riding solo and weigh 95 kg?
Good stuffing to you all!
Tony Rating : 5/5 Respond to Tony
Minuses: range (approx. 200kms) / insurance (1000Euros/year) / passenger comfort (footpegs a little high) / wind resistance (especially above authorized speeds) / gearbox not always very precise / suspension a little hard after a while
The pluses: engine brimming with vitality at all revs / discreet, pleasant noise at low revs / easy-to-handle, precise bike (hence city-compatible) / good roadholding / reasonable fuel consumption / good finish (no gimmicks) / excellent riding position / looks (although this is a matter of taste) / good city/road/sport compromise
What makes it so appealing to me is that it's easy to drive, without disturbing pedestrians, and as soon as the road is clear, a quick tug on the tacket and the beauty lifts the front wheel and takes off like a tornado. One small regret? We're up to speed very quickly (240km/h), too bad there's no 6th gear! Rating : 5/5 Respond to jobulot
The only regret is the lack of a center stand
Pleasant too: no fatigue thanks to the effective bubble up to around 160 an hour
and what's more, on special offer, it's sometimes cheaper than a sad 600 fazer...., while being infinitely superior to its rival 1200 bandit... Rating : 5/5 Respond to dedel
