presentation of the KMX 125 1997
kawa's all-round trail bike, the Yam DTR's rival, is called KMX. While its more sport-oriented cousin, the KDX, offers great performance in its field, the M is also capable of great efficiency. Starting with the engine. The throttle is successful (rare enough to be worth mentioning) and doesn't suffocate the mechanics (in the free version, the mono reaches 24 hp at 9500 rpm, but it becomes greedier and noticeably noisier). The temperament is intact for this powerful, alert mono, which has to put up with an excessively long gear ratio. The chassis is a real gem. In town, the machine is very nimble, which is hardly surprising given its lightness and maneuverability. The seat is far too firm, but the suspension works efficiently and smoothly, enhancing comfort. When the road gets rough, the bike still manages to hold its own. With its faultless chassis, roadholding is impeccable. The brake discs do their job properly. A very pleasant machine to ride, with a very enthusiastic engine.

i have a question, how many kilometers can you drive at full speed = 115 kmh about, before tightening or damaging the motuer, because a friend tells me about 15 km. I had 4 strokes and the question does not arise, if there are professionals on the site, thank you if you have information in the meantime I am wary because it works very well up to 100 kmh

I owned this bike in my younger years (first bike after my A licence) and I'll never forget the pleasure I had riding it

It's a two-stroke engine so you have to run on the mixture but on this bike there is an oil tank under the seat so you mail gasoline in your tank "95 or 98" and make sure there is oil if not you will break your engine Rating : 3/5 Participate in the conversation
Following a mechanical problem, more precisely 'blocking of the connecting rod', I had to drain and dismantle the engine. Now that it's back together, a primary question is on my mind: 'THE LEVEL OF GEARBOX OIL'. I'd like to know how much should I put in so that it's perfect?
Thanks for your help. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Kmx 125cc 92
for greater safety, look on the internet for the exact quantity and type of oil to put in the gearbox Rating : 4/5 Participate in the conversation

i've been riding it for 1 year now and it has 14,000 kms on both roads and trails, no worries
the only thing I have to complain about
is its slight lack of power
because even if I can get close to 140 km/h on a flat surface with the wind at my back, in the opposite case with a flat surface, I always have to relaunch it and it's hard to go above 115

I always have an oily exhaust, and my oil flow pump is set just as the manual says
It's only after 7000 revs that it's working at its best without oiling Rating : 5/5 Respond to ti jean
ENFIN It's true that to get the full power of this bike you have to climb to at least 7000 rpm before changing gears, otherwise it tends to creep a little Rating : 5/5 Respond to FREDO
This was my first bike. I bought it in 88 and didn't sell it until 2000
But what memories!
Back then, they weren't bridled. It made 24 horsepower. And it was dynamite
Flexible, reliable and robust.
A real pleasure
Seeing it again on the internet breaks my heart..
