presentation of the Z 800 Sugomi 2016

The Z 800 took up where the Z 750 line had left off. Except that the roadster's hegemony was challenged by the MT-09, not to mention a few kicks from the MT-07. Yamaha's vengeful duo didn't sink the Z, however, far from it, which continues to rank in the market's top 10.
While waiting for the Z 800 to undergo a welcome evolution (it's heavy and its engine is aging), its philosophy as a menacing machine urges it to offer itself as a Sugomi special edition. A principle, an idea that has contributed to the development of the latest Z 1000 and 800. In fact, the big Z also comes in the same special edition. The Japanese word has little appeal to Westerners. It's much more intimidating in Japanese culture, combining strength, awe and respect.

with this philosophical aside out of the way, let's turn our attention to the machine itself. Despite these few shortcomings, the Z 800 is a pleasure to ride, and its looks are fiercely appealing. It's all the more esteemed for this double-impact color, metallic black flushed with candy red. The same crimson hue is used for the rim edging and anodized fork tubes. A carbon Akrapovic silencer completes the package. The Slovenian manufacturer takes care of the product, with a specific label on the muffler bearing the name of this special edition, a carbon protector under the rider's footrest and another to protect the exhaust valve.
Is the Z 800 reaching the peak of its ferocity with this Sugomi version? In any case, it looks set to fight to the bitter end in the strategic mid-size roadster arena.

French Model 2016
Very good bike
For me, no vibrations in the footrests.
More torquey at full throttle.
Very good roadholding despite the lowering kit, which reduces the suspension and fork crowns.
Pleasant and easy to ride, the weight really isn't a handicap.
I'd recommend the addition of a windscreen to protect against the wind, and a comfortable saddle for those who like long rides.
I agree with Marco that a gear indicator would be nice to have as standard.

French Model 2016
Super bike except for the vibrations in the footrests.the weight is well balanced this bike is not felt.I use it in town and country no worries.the bike heats up a little rises to 102 degrees in town but goes down quickly enough.in sport use that happiness the gears shift without worry.I think on this bike it just lacks an indicator of gear engaged. V gazzz to all Rating : 4/5
