presentation of the ZX-6R 600 2000
Kawa's sporty styling is getting sharper and edgier, and the ZX-6R is taking advantage of its 2000 vintage to get a facelift, following the styling trend. No fuss, just sport! Taut and focused, this beauty is a credit to the Supersport world. Playing in the same league as the Yamaha R6, it offers similar performance without going to extremes. By this I mean that this 600 Ninja has retained its dazzling sporting qualities, but also a surprisingly comfortable ride for its class. Sporty but not radical riding position (thanks to the wrists), good protection, comfortable seat, excellent suspension work... Everything you need for a carefree ride. And best of all, the engine is pretty full at mid-range for a 600 Sport.
In changing generation, the 6R has lost weight: 5 kgs. Thanks to the use of magnesium and aluminum, as well as extensive work on the chassis and engine, the bike comes in at 171 kgs. It also boasts almost 120 dynamic hp with forced air intake.
would you believe it? The Kawa doesn't hate the city. Perhaps the high seat height is a disadvantage - but it doesn't detract from the machine's ease of handling. Like all good sports bikes, it's on the racetrack or in wide-open spaces that this nippy little machine really comes into its own. Maneuverable, agile and efficient, the bike's chassis is exemplary in its rigor, yet forgiving of minor errors on the part of the inexperienced rider. Torquey up to 8,000rpm, the engine then explodes with the raging behavior for which Kawasaki is famous. With 6-piston calipers, braking is formidable.
For all its qualities, the ZX-6R is beaten on the track by the R6. Making the most of the road as well as the track inevitably entails concessions, and unfortunately results in the loss of a few tenths (yes, well, you really have to be a racer). That said, the Yam is only untouchable on the track. On the road, the green one is just as powerful, 100 times more comfortable and, frankly, less demanding.

the bike revs up with a fair amount of torque for a 600 up to 6500 rpm, then climbs with greater vivacity up to 10000 rpm, at which point the engine enters like a fury, giving its voice and pushing!
my 600 makes 117.8 hp on the power bench and 7.2 mkg of torque
