presentation of the 450 SMR 2025
With its 450 SMR, KTM has a real Supermot' nugget, full of energy and ready to unleash continuous jets of adrenalin. The SMR is a benchmark in the supermotard world. Combining cutting-edge technology with KTM's race-proven engineering, the improved 2025 version offers formidable performance, agility and power.
Using the recently updated KTM 450 SX-F 2025 as a base, the KTM 450 SMR 2025 raises the bar even higher, with key improvements to the frame, fork and ergonomics.
With its 63 hp, 450 cm3 SOHC engine, the KTM 450 SMR 2025 benefits from a series of upgrades like those found on the recently updated KTM SX-F 2025 range. The biggest and most significant of these are to be found on the frame, with visible cut-outs and changes in tube wall thickness around the front end, engine and rear shock mounts.
In addition to a 300g weight saving, these structural modifications have been designed to improve chassis flex characteristics and cornering behavior, while maintaining overall stability. On the latter point, smaller footpegs for 2025 maximize lean angles and reduce the risk of snagging on track edges.
The 450 SMR 2025 comes standard with launch control and Quickshifter. Launch Control limits power to the rear wheel, improving traction and preventing loss of control during hard acceleration. To activate, simply press the launch control and quickshifter buttons simultaneously.
The engine map selector on the 450 SMR 2025 has been simplified, making it easy to choose between the 2 engine maps. Mode 1 offers a more linear power curve. Mode 2 is more responsive, with more aggressive throttle response and explosive power. Traction control is easily activated and deactivated from the same switch. It guarantees maximum traction and offers an undeniable advantage on slippery terrain.

The 4? SMR 2025 also gets its first 48 mm WP XACT adjustable closed-cartridge fork. This features a new piston design with a central valve that optimizes oil flow in the cartridge and prevents the formation of unwanted oil foam, thus preserving damping characteristics. A new hydraulic stop in the last part of the stroke preserves maximum reserves in extreme scenarios, such as bigger jumps or hard landings.
At the rear, a WP XACT rear shock absorber benefits from an updated linkage with renewed seals and smaller-diameter linkage bolts. The configuration comes directly from the KTM Factory Racing team and has been thoroughly tested on both gravel and asphalt.
Ergonomically, the KTM 450 SMR 2025 benefits from new tank fairings with bi-composite plastics on the upper and lower sides. This not only gives it a distinctive new look, but also contributes to cooling by channelling air more effectively.
As for the air intake, an updated one-piece intake sleeve and snorkel design prevent distortion, thanks to a stronger, stiffer construction, while an updated fuel tank roller protects the frame from wear and improves tank fit.

Above the surface, all-orange bodywork, with molded red and black graphics, and a tougher black saddle bring a sleeker look while communicating the pure READY TO RACE intentions of the SMR '25.
As with previous generations, the 450 SMR 2025 is equipped with race-ready Metzeler Racetec SM K1 Supermoto tires, wrapped around lightweight ALPINA 16.5" front and 17" rear rims.
The brakes are worthy of a half-superbike. High-performance Brembo components deliver incredible stopping power, with a radial-mount 4-piston M50 caliper and radial master cylinder holding an imposing 310 mm disc at the front. A single-piston caliper and 220 mm disc provide braking power at the rear.
The 450 SMR 2025 has been rigorously tested to ensure it can perform in the most extreme conditions. World Supermoto Championship rider Lukas Höllbacher put the machine through its paces in a variety of harsh environments, from scorching 40-degree heat on Spanish asphalt to sub-zero temperatures on Swedish ice. These gruelling test simulations ensure that this 450 SMR 2025 will deliver top performance whatever the conditions.
