presentation of the 350 SX-F 2012
The original idea was to enter the MX1 World Championship with a smaller displacement but all the advantages of a lighter bike. This led to the birth of the 350 SX-F, and at the same time to the birth of a legend. A first win in the first race for Toni Cairoli and the World Championship title in the very first season: what more proof do you need of the ingenuity of the concept? The sensation of the 2010 MX season enters the second round with an improved chassis.
Engine
The 350 SX-F's compact, state-of-the-art DOHC four-stroke engine boasts a very wide usable rpm range, superb efficiency and performance almost worthy of a 450cc engine. The obvious advantages: Less effort for the rider and more cornering speed thanks to its extreme efficiency.
Distribution
The cylinder head with its two overhead camshafts houses four titanium valves actuated by extremely light carbon rocker arms. The 350 SX-F's sophisticated valve train, ultra-light piston and extremely short stroke allow engine speeds of up to 13,000 rpm.
Engine Management System (EMS)
The Keihin Engine Management System with electronic fuel injection ensures spontaneous engine response and maximum performance. An optional "Map Select" selector allows different engine characteristics to be activated.
Frame
The modern frame of the 350 SX-F, made of high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel, is not only extremely light and torsionally rigid. It also boasts a particularly well-balanced geometry that combines childlike manoeuvrability with formidable precision.
Telescopic fork
The inverted telescopic fork has been further improved, featuring closed cartridge technology and a slightly firmer adjustment for even less bottoming. The WP fork with its 48 mm (1.89 in) tubes is a major contributor to the 350 SX-F's extraordinary manoeuvrability.
Linkage suspension swingarm
The 350 SX-F's progressive rear suspension contributes to its extraordinary handling and extreme traction. The lightweight aluminum swingarm is designed for optimum resistance to lateral torsion, while the now firmer WP shock absorber is mounted via a connecting rod, providing great progressiveness and a wide range of adjustment.
EMS
The Keihin Engine Management System with electronic fuel injection and electronic throttle control ensures spontaneous engine response and maximum performance. An optional "Map Select" selector allows different engine characteristics to be activated.
Electric starter
For years, KTM has been proving that an electric starter is a great advantage, even in motocross. That's why the 350 SX-F also has a start button. Weight fanatics and traditionalists can remove the electric starter and replace it with a kick.
Bodywork
The 350 SX-F's bodywork, with its slim seat and spoiler lines and excellent contact points, further perfects its ergonomics, making it even easier and more precise to ride.
