presentation of the 150 SX 2012
the ideal combination of the perfect handling of a 125cc with the engine power of a 250cc. With higher performance than ever, a new frame and rear suspension, the 150 SX can take full advantage of its low weight compared to the competition. So equipped, there's no fear of taking on more than one 250cc four-stroke.
new intake manifold
The 150 SX's flow-optimized intake flange, between the airbox and carburetor, now ensures even better engine breathing. As a result, the water-cooled two-stroke revs even better, delivering more power throughout the rev range.
new muffler
The 150 SX's new muffler has not only improved in quality, but its optimized silencer, in conjunction with the exhaust control system, provides an additional, explosive but controllable power boost.
new frame
The 150 SX's completely redesigned frame, made of high-quality chromium-molybdenum steel, is not only extremely light and torsion-resistant. It also boasts a particularly well-balanced geometry, combining childlike manoeuvrability with formidable precision.
new Linkage rear suspension.
From now on, even the two-stroke bikes in KTM's MX range are equipped with the complex linkage rear suspension. Linkage of the shock absorber via a connecting rod system provides great progressiveness and a wide range of adjustment. So the 150 SX feels right at home, even on the roughest motocross tracks.
new swingarm
The new Linkage rear suspension is combined with a new cast-aluminium swingarm, designed for optimum resistance to lateral torsion and perfectly defined longitudinal flexibility. The 150 SX owes much of its line stability, extraordinary handling and extreme traction to this new swingarm.
new telescopic fork setting
The inverted telescopic fork has been further improved, featuring closed cartridge technology and a slightly firmer setting for even less bottoming. The WP fork, with its 48 mm (1.89 in) tubes, is a major contributor to the 150 SX's extraordinary manoeuvrability.
bodywork
The 150 SX's bodywork, with its slim seat and spoiler lines and excellent contact points, further perfects its ergonomics, making it even easier and more precise to ride.

I bought my 150 knowing that it was going to be a physical and mechanical challenge.
As for the mechanics and the durability of the parts, I'm still amazed, except for the consumables. I don't ride like a grandfather, I use the bike and in the sand. The only small problem is the torque at the bottom, which is very complicated, you have to play with the gears and the clutch. To remedy this, you need to add a 13.80 decompression dome and a complete line.
(Without modification, it's already running very hard! )
As for handling, there's nothing to say about its weight, which never ceases to amaze me, and it's incredibly agile for a machine with so much power.
Perfect for those wishing to resume or begin cross-country riding in serious conditions. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Matthieu
I would like to know if the 2013 ktm 150 is a very reliable bike for a beginner
THANK YOU. Rating : 3/5 Respond to olivier
Well, I've never tried this bike, nor this style of bike, so I don't know if I'm in the best position to answer your question, but considering the displacement in this category of bike, I think that this 150 will enable you to get your teeth into it, and much more, on cross-country tracks and circuits ;)
If others can correct me...
Bonne route à toi. Rating : 3/5 Participate in the conversation
