presentation of the 200 EXC 2015
the ideal osmosis between the perfect handling of a 125cc and the engine power of a 250cc. The 200 EXC is equipped as standard with an electric starter, and the 2015 model is even more powerful to enhance reliability. The 200 EXC is the first choice for those seeking excellent handling, first-class comfort and sufficient power without necessarily entering a competition category, but rather to have fun, ride with ease and be economical.
engine
For 2015, the KTM 200's engine benefits from a new carburetor setting that ensures improved, more consistent power delivery.
frame
The modern design of the 200 EXC's frame in lightweight, high-strength chrome-molybdenum steel tubing combines maximum longitudinal rigidity with optimum torsional rigidity. This provides not only good handling and precise steering, but also excellent riding stability. The new frame not only shines in its new colors, but also clearly sets new standards in terms of weight and stability. The frame of this 2015 version shines in the same orange as the KTM factory team models, making its design even more attractive. It's also easier to maintain and offers more space for the fuel tank and other components. The frame design, combined with the PDS rear shock absorber, optimally dissipates rear-wheel shocks.
swingarm
The cast aluminum swingarm has been designed using state-of-the-art calculation and simulation software; the design and wall thickness ensure minimum weight for optimum strength and a perfectly defined flex.
suspension / damping
The KTM 200 EXC features individual suspension tuning perfectly matched to its weight and engine. The high-quality WP suspension components have been specially designed for enduro use, ensuring maximum grip and comfort. at the rear, a PDS shock absorber with direct connection above the swingarm. For the 2015 model year, the PDS shock absorber has been redesigned with a new Monoseal seal for improved sealing and easier maintenance. The fork's wide rebound adjustment range and Highspeed and Lowspeed compression damping come as standard with KTM.
fork crowns
The fork tees have been specially designed for enduro use, and guarantee precise handling by supporting the fork flex. The rider receives precise feedback from the front wheel even on the toughest terrain, increasing safety and speed.
fairing
The fairing has been designed with ergonomics and functionality in mind, so that every detail of the bike is in perfect harmony with the rider.
air box
The ingenious design of the airbox ensures optimum protection of the air filter from dirt, and maximum air flow for enhanced performance. The airbox covers are manufactured using a two-component process, with new "Inmould" graphics. Filter replacement is quick and tool-free. Two additional tabs on the cover also allow it to be secured with screws.
handlebars
All EXC models are equipped with extremely sturdy Neken tapered handlebars made from a solid aluminum alloy. The tried-and-tested KTM system allows the handlebars (now black anodized) to be fixed in a choice of four positions. For the 2015 model year, the handguards are made from a new material that ensures greater impact resistance.
tachometer
The new MAE tachometer integrates all indicator lights into a single component (with the exception of the turn signals). The cockpit is thus clear and uncluttered, making the available information easy to read.
wheels
The wheels feature new Giant 7050 T6 aluminum rims, with black-coated spokes, lightweight aluminum nipples and CNC-machined hubs, guaranteeing maximum stability for minimum weight. Maxxis enduro tires specially developed for KTM offer perfect grip and excellent performance.
brakes
High-tech Brembo brakes have long been standard on KTM off-road bikes, with lightweight Wave disc brakes for optimum braking performance. Best-in-class enduro brakes, they remain unchanged on this 2015 version.
