presentation of the 450 Rally Replica 2021
KTM presents a new edition of its rally-raid-compé-client machine for 2021: the 450 Rally Replica. Who else but the Austrian brand could put forward such a machine, capable of adventuring on all fronts with winning in its sights?
Marketed to a very discerning public in just 85 units, the 450 Rally doesn't promise adventure; it delivers it! Its equipment and design are first-rate for tackling the conditions of the great outdoors. A machine very similar to that used by official KTM riders in events such as the Dakar. For a price as high as its potential...
cylinder head
The new single overhead camshaft (SOHC) cylinder head, made from the highest quality materials, has been manufactured to very precise tolerances to guarantee long-lasting performance.
gearbox
Featuring the same ratios as the previous model, the new gearbox is extremely smooth in use, thanks to improvements in the selection mechanism. High-quality, specially-coated steel gear selectors guarantee the reliability and solidity essential for long-distance raids.
engine Management System (EMS)
Keihin's sophisticated engine management system features a new 44mm throttle body for instant response and consistent performance thanks to the unique position of the injector. Engine maps have been adapted to the new air filter housing and cylinder head. The engine speed sensor seal has also been improved. These mappings ensure optimum deployment of power according to the data communicated by the engaged gear sensor. Modifications to the throttle cable have simplified cable routing and made them more accessible.

The new Akrapovic silencer has been designed to work optimally with the engine and air filter box. Shorter than its predecessor, it is also located lower down to improve mass centralization and enhance the bike's handling.
air filter
The completely redesigned air filter housing is mounted above the engine to improve airflow, ensure instant throttle response and enhance performance levels. The large TWIN AIR air filter provides an effective barrier against dust and other impurities. The new design also frees up space for electrical components such as the battery. The battery now occupies a more central position between the steering column and the air-filter housing, which is good for mass centralization.
frame
The 450 Rally Replica benefits from a new high-tech chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame. The rigidity of the frame has been designed to improve rider feedback, handling and straight-line stability. The self-supporting fuel tank, with a capacity of 16 liters, has been cleverly integrated into the rear loop.
swingarm
The new model inherits a lighter cast-aluminium swingarm, whose bending behaviour has been studied to accompany the movement of the suspension. The redesigned and revised pushrod system transfers force to a new shock absorber to enhance feel, improve driveability and increase resistance to bottoming. As a result, the rider benefits from a higher level of stability and safety when in full action.
suspensions
The 450 Rally is equipped with the latest WP PRO COMPONENTS suspensions. At the front, a 48 mm XACT PRO closed-cartridge fork with advanced Cone Valve technology. At the rear, a new WP XACT PRO shock absorber. The whole system works in perfect symbiosis to guarantee balanced damping, excellent stability and excellent resistance to bottoming at high speeds. This fully adjustable suspension combination can be tailored precisely to the terrain and rider preferences.
saddles
The saddle has been redesigned to improve overall ergonomics, provide better grip and control for the rider, and ensure comfortable seating during longer stages.
cladding
Engineers and designers have taken into account the recommendations of KTM factory riders to create a bike as svelte as possible. Particular attention has been paid to ergonomics and rider contact points to ensure maximum freedom of movement. The new GPS holder, in ultra-light carbon fiber, is hidden behind the redesigned fairing. This improves aerodynamics and considerably reduces turbulence at the rider's head when sitting on the saddle. This means less stress and fatigue for the rider.
