Harley-Davidson.... Sorry, LiveWire introduces its second electric motorcycle to the market. It's the S2 Del Mar, a kind of small flat-track with a big belly, flirting with a very different audience than the One. With such a distinctive name and face, it's the beaches of Mallorca that come to mind behind this machine. A little café-house music, electrons instead of petrol, and the festivities begin.

S2 Del Mar is exactly like a typical V.I.P. binge just before the inauguration: not many people and all the places sold out even before the opening. The young Livewire was offered in 100 units, all of which were ordered in less than 20 minutes. As a "Launch Edition", it benefits from both the novelty and the exclusivity.

This Harley cousin mixes genres, like a Sportster, a Scrambler Icon and two truck batteries. The S2's power output is right up there with the aforementioned bikes. 84 horsepower or 63 kW. Torque, on the other hand, is of the highest order. Over 26 mkg available, more than a Rocket III with its huge 2.5-iter engine.

A little heavy at 195 kilos (but light in the electric category), this Street Tracker is capable of slamming from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. The same time is needed for a Porsche 911 GT3. Beyond that speed.... It's not in the same league.
The brand claims 1 hour and 15 minutes to charge the battery from 20% to 80% (in L2 charging mode).

In any case, the S2 Del Mar has no sporting vocation. It's more of a pleasure machine for cruising between the city and the Opal Coast, and not for straining your ribs and shoulders. Range: 177 km in an urban environment. If you're looking for a good ride with friends, you've come to the wrong place. But for fun-soft riding or everyday city eating, it's just what you need.

No frame for this bike. The battery does the job. The suspension components hook onto it, as allowed by the "Arrow" platform used here... and later. This modular architecture will make it easier and faster to develop other models.

The S2 Del Mar is the second motorcycle to be offered by Livewire, the electric arm of H-D. No surprises on the price front: at $17,699, it fits in with the hefty Livewire price range. However, it's already much cheaper than the One (the remix of the first Harley Livewire), and the standard version will be more affordable (approx. $15,000).

After the American launch, Europe is entitled to its own limited edition. Uh..... part of Europe. France, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK will share the 100 units. The Del Mar S2s for this quartet will be finished in a special "Himalaya White" color.
