presentation of the 400 TT40 Cafe Racer 2017

Mash continues its offensive in the vintage segment. And with style! Riding a wave ofnostalgic-hipster-authentic-value, the brand unleashes a retina-shaking café-racer. The TT40. An ersatz old-school sports bike, with all the style and technology of yesteryear. Enough to refresh your teeth without scratching your wallet.

let's face it: the TT40 isn't designed to run out the clock. On the contrary, its leitmotiv is to keep the ride simple, without worrying about a fury of watts, a chassis to be fine-tuned or crushing corners with muscular arsouilles.
Here, appearance is everything. With the ambiance of an old race in the background. Based on the 400 Five-Hundred, the TT40 Café-Racer features a fork head worthy of 70s sports bikes. The visual impact is immediately striking. The long, single-seater saddle gives the impression that you could stretch out your whole body to glean a few extra km/h. The megaphone-style muffler, wristbands and end-mounted mirrors complete the package. When it comes to looks, you're in for a treat.

once in the saddle, in a position that promises to be a little sporty without being radical or violent, the rider need only seek to enjoy himself gently, by working the style into the ride. Adapted to pass Euro4, thanks in particular to Delphi fuel injection, the 397 cm3 single-cylinder spits out almost 28 hp at 7,000 rpm. A small torque of 3 mkg is negotiated at 5500 rpm. Not a thunderbolt, but an old-fashioned engine, a sort of revival of an old Honda block.
This Mash is also distinguished by the arrival of ABS, which can be disconnected. Braking is also assured by a 320 mm front disc and 4-piston caliper.

Mash 400 TT40 Cafe Racer 2017 - 1Mash 400 TT40 Cafe Racer 2017 - 1

the Mash TT40 Café Racer has what it takes to make a name for itself in a category where old-school sports bikes are not (yet) legion, and where prices are often high. Let's hope that the brand has done what's necessary to get rid of its light reliability and sometimes capricious engine behavior.
It's also a totally retro and offbeat alternative to the small sportbikes such as the Ninja 300 R, YZF R3 and RC 390. For the same price, the TT40 is far less powerful and efficient; but its old-fashioned looks deliver a much more fashionable charm...

French Damaco Model 2020
For those who love vintage without having a war machine. It's perfect. I wanted to rediscover the sensations of '70s motorcycles... I got it. With better braking. Rating : 4/5
moto balade, much less expensive than the other 400s contrary to what is indicated, when the 400 ktm and kawa (all liquid cooled!) will be at 3000 (last new price) you call us! (all no longer on sale today), the 400 mash engines are reliable, the rest is very random from one model to the next and from one dealer to the next (many have chosen mash because it's cheap, but doesn't ensure proper assembly and preparation, and doesn't provide service? and many mash buyers are new to motorcycles, sometimes with little knowledge and poor mechanical maintenance), the returns on the 400s are good, but for the other models it's a lottery! A real café racer (very few on sale, Triumph at €10,000! ...), demanding position, with lots of original options: mudguards, chain protection, turn signals, rear shock absorber, chrome seat cover. A vintage look, low fuel consumption, protection on the version with the front bubble fairing. Enough trunk space to accelerate, overtake, cruising speed 80/90, reaches 150kmh. It would have deserved an engine with a little more horsepower, but that doesn't mean it has to compete with other models. Mash opens up the world of motorcycling to many people, with simple, stylish bikes that are affordable (still too expensive given the manufacturing price), something that major manufacturers no longer know how to do with their aseptic bikes with no options and exorbitant prices (why buy a 400 when you can get a 600 or even more for the same price!). The mash direct boasts of having designed the tt, which is totally false, as the bike already existed in China, and was also used in Austria, as well as by another brand (different engine). The original spark plug, tires, air filter and brake pads are not of high quality. The original injection system has been corrected on the latest models. abs is useless (as on all motorcycles) and pots are clamped (as on all new motorcycles). For a few modifications, an inexpensive bike that's well worth it. Rating : 3/5

French Marco Model 2019
I bought this bike on Paris Bastille royal Enfield distribution as many who bought this bike it is its attractive price during discount that decided me to sell a 125 Orcal NK01 and make its acquisition. After realizing that Moto Bastille hadn't done its job when it came to getting the bike up and running - handlebars not at the same height and brake fluid missing from the front brake reservoir - I opted for another motorcycle garage in Pierrelaye and, after covering 1,000 km, found this bike to be a pleasure to ride every day; it has 12,000 kilometers today without a hitch RAS indeed the driving position is not the most pleasant but I enjoy it and from the suburbs to my workplace 22 km in cold rainy weather nothing to complain it purrs and its handling can make more powerful bikes blush I wanted to change and well after reflection I keep and keep until my retirement in 3 years.
On the other hand, I have to service it every 3,000 years, and the 12,000-year service cost me 290 euros JUST THE KIT REVISION OK BRAKES OK ETC...

French Poutine74 Model 2020
Motorcycle bought at 2995 euros new price, nice little bike
I did 1000 km in 1 month and a half and I'm really happy
The riding position is rather tiring, leaning on the wrists and the comfort is rustic, suspension hard I find
When I ride it, I find it hard to get back to the garage because it's so inviting to go for a ride, which is a good sign
I wouldn't have bought it for over 5,000 euros, the price it fetched in its early days, but today at less than 3,000 euros it's a bargain, and you can't beat it at that price
In short, I love riding it.

French Model 2017
A super success in terms of cafra much more successful than the new neo retro and yes as bcp of motorcycle is assembled in China that does not make it a bad machine like bcp of Japanese who think they have a monopoly of the bike a price super interesting power correct for a 400 Rating : 5/5
French Model 2017
Nice visual appeal. A motorcycle that can be ridden without the need for almost useless power.
See if the brand has corrected the many shortcomings of previous models?
It's a pity that this reputation tarnishes the launch of this very affordable motorcycle, which brings a new take on styles (all brands included) that have been presented for several years.
