presentation of the Ninja 300 R KRT Edition 2016
The 300 Ninja R is only available in a KRT replica version this year. And what audacity! Riding the wave of Superbike success, this color scheme takes center stage on all Ninja models in the range(ZX-10R - ZX-636R - Ninja 300 R). The war paintwork is flattering, and young riders will be delighted to share the aura emanating from this dress. Rea & Sykes would almost tap you on the shoulder at a red light.
sharp, dynamic design, aluminum sport footrests, side-mounted turn signalszX-6 R look, floating ZX-10 R-type bubble, ZZR 1400-inspired fairing and wheel designs - this machine is emboldened by the aura of Kawa's big guns. It's a real eye-catcher. Up close and personal, the mininja (contraction of mini and ninja, lol) looks bigger than it is.
hard to believe there's a 300 living under there. More like 296 cm3, to be precise. With this layer of displacement, the Kawa is well on its way to the top of the class. But danger lurks in the form of the formidable KTM RC 390 and the intrepid Yamaha R3.
But what about this engine? Since the original 2.5 twin, engineers have lengthened the piston stroke, which is always good for torque. Between the crankcases, it's all techno: dual throttle injection and controlled slip clutch; the kind of gear you'd normally see on a supersport. In the interests of comfort, the engine-makers have optimized vibration levels and heat dissipation. In fact, the fairing sides are designed for better heat evacuation.
With power on the cusp of 40 hp, you can start having fun with this 300. With your head in the bubble and your mirrors retracted, a young rider should be able to achieve a good top speed, probably enough to burn your license. But don't take any chances: you'll only go fast on the racetrack... The main benefit for everyday use is more torque and better acceleration.
the little Ninja sets the pace with a sporty instrument cluster: sharp design, analog central rev counter and remote digital display. The digital display provides information on speed, time, fuel gauge, double trip and, as a bonus, an economy indicator.
But to take advantage of all this, it's out of the question to keep the structure of the late 250 unchanged: special frame, wider tires now 140 mm wide, and ABS as standard.
this Kawasaki Ninja 300 R is a brilliant replacement for the 250, and offers some very convincing arguments. A real conquest machine for emerging countries, where most manufacturers are sharpening their best-sellers in this displacement bracket. The echo won't be as strong in our country, which is more fond of displacements at least twice as large. But times are changing, and energy now eats up a big chunk of the wallet, so it's no coincidence that more and more models are occupying the 125 to 500 cm3 segment.
