presentation of the V 85 TT Travel 2020

The V85 TT is nice. It's got a nice retro look, a bit of Italian sweetness, not too much power, a measured use of technology and a price that's not too steep. As a result, it's making a bit of a comeback as a trail vehicle when the competition has shifted to the abundant premium SUV.

By becoming a Travel, it is thinking, like so many others, of going far afield, allowing its rider to carry provisions, and only thinking of breaks when night falls or eyelids droop. Benefiting from its own sandy-toned color scheme, the Guzzi trail bike takes on hips, forehead and bollocks. What's the real story?

If you're going to be on the road for a long time, you need to take the pressure off the rider. That's the job of the high bubble, 60% larger than the original. The left-hand case is eaten up by the exhaust, so it offers less volume than its sister, at 27.5 liters. On the right, 37 liters can be stowed away, which is just a hair more than a full-face helmet. Minimum headache with the key, the same as for the ignition. The width of the V85 TT increases to 928 mm in this Travel version.

Also included are a pair of additional LED headlamps, heated grips and the in-house MIA multimedia platform, with smartphone pairing. All that's missing is a comfort seat.
These elements add 13 kilos to the bike's weight.

Moto-Guzzi V 85 TT Travel 2020 however, Guzzi has not made any technical changes to make this a truly different version. The competition doesn't hesitate to (more or less) skilfully particularize its models: BMW with the F 850 GS Adventure, Suzuki and theV-Strom 1050 XT, KTM via a 790 Adventure R or Triumph with its 900 Tiger Rally. All of them benefit from specific chassis or electronic features (or both), while the V85 TT Travel simply picks from the accessory shelf.

So, no larger fuel tank, modified suspension, enlarged bodywork or engine protectors. The V85 TT Travel retains a 23-liter fuel tank. Enough to fuel the 80-hp twin for 3 or 400 km. Its 8? delivers up to 8.2 mkg of torque. In addition to the charm of its powertrain, the Mandello-based company highlights the presence of a universal joint. It's true that only a minority of trails benefit from this type of transmission. And it's the only one in its size range.
In addition to multimedia, the machine's electronics include 3 riding modes (Road - Rain - All-terrain), traction control, ABS, cruise control and a 4.3" TFT screen

The extra equipment justifies the higher price. Not a rip-off, but just the right amount. This Travel can quietly continue along the same path as the V 85 TT. The public has made no mistake.

Très bonne moto
French Lucky24 Model 2023
I'm back with moto guzzi after 25 years with a japanese bike. i've rediscovered the pleasure of riding that i had partly forgotten, nice looks, plenty of power and the must on the small roads of my native Dordogne between 60 and 80 in 6th gear on a trickle of gas,on the main road the regulator allows you to respect the limits without having to keep an eye on the speedo and also enjoy the scenery.for my 50th driving licence a very good choice, what a pleasure a lively bike Rating : 5/5
French Phil Model 2022
THE bike for travelers! not too much unnecessary power, very good torque, + top case + Qbag filled with camping gear in the passenger seat... tent, sleeping bag, picnic basket... and still plenty of room! Excellent roadholding, very good brakes (the front requires a bit of learning), light handlebars that make you forget how heavy it is. Fuel consumption around 4L depending on riding style, with a range of around 450/500 km. Top lighting, heated handlebars, windscreen, USB socket...I can't think of what it's missing, and the must: the cardan shaft! All this for an unbeatable price, and yet I looked elsewhere for a long time because I was so prejudiced against Moto Guzzi, and I've stopped looking since September 2021! Buying with passion AND intelligence! Rating : 5/5

I love my motorcycle, the V85TT Travel, it consumes nothing (around 4.5l in mixed driving and 3.7l in cool driving), it's pretty comfortable over 300km, it's easy to handle and pretty light for a traveler, it's got a little something that other more conventional machines don't have, that vibration and reversing torque that make this motorcycle come alive, it turns smoothly and invites you to travel and that without wanting to go fast, that's pleasant! The lines are beautiful, and so is the engine. Clearly, it's a great machine. Try it, you'll see it's a great bike! PS: you don't need horsepower, just enough torque and you're all set! Rating : 4/5
French VALACKI Model 2021
I've just tried it and miraculously rediscovered the moto passion feeling (I've already had 3 moto guzzi). I own a 650 v-strom with 71 hp. Only 5 more than the TT, but a phenomenal difference. What exhilaration between 4 and 5000 rpm. It's like riding a much more powerful motorcycle. The only downside is the seat height, even with a low seat (1.70 m). Your feet don't sit well when you're standing still. Despite the modern design, I still felt the vibrations in the footrests and the clattering sound when shifting up a gear, with the neutral position hard to find
I can't wait to try it out again as a duo this time, as my wife has something to say about comfort!
i'm interested in your opinion on these points.

I've been the proud owner of a travel sable 2021 since June, and after covering almost 5,000 kms, I'm won over by it. With its lively engine, incredible roadholding and easy cornering, it's a real mountain bike. Its impeccable comfort (saddle, position, protection) makes it especially suited to long-distance journeys. I don't regret my choice. It's a pleasure bike. Bravo moto Guzzi. Rating : 4/5

Pas de souci, c'est que du bonheur !
French Model 2020
Love at first sight (as with the 850 Le Mans in 1976) ... so I gave up my very efficient B.M.W. whose debauchery of technology (and prices that had become prohibitive) brought me back to a true pleasure bike ..
Just a few hundred kilometers since I received it (last Saturday), and already a strong attachment to this simple, lively, yet thoroughly modern bike ...
