presentation of the V 85 TT Travel 2023
The V85 TT is nice. It's got a nice retro look, a bit of Italian sweetness, not too much power, a measured use of technology and a price that's not too steep. As a result, it's making a bit of a comeback as a trail vehicle when the competition has shifted to the abundant premium SUV.
Time seems a frivolity to him. But he can't escape it, just as he can't avoid the obligations of standards. Things changed when 2021 imposed the partition. Let's start with what's galling, with power down to 76 hp (-4)... Euro5 has come and gone. On the other hand, torque has risen to 8.4 mkg and is more present at low and mid-range speeds.
Two new driving modes have been added to the electronics. A 'Sport' mode with a more tonic throttle response and mid-level traction control / and a 'Custom'-mode for customizing your own cocktail. The rims have been lightened by 1.5 kilos and can now be fitted with tubeless tires. On the road or on the road, the V85 family is all set. It's only later that the personality takes a turn for the worse.
When it became Travel, Mandello's trail bike, like so many others, thought about going far away, allowing its rider to take along provisions, and only thinking about breaks when night falls or eyelids droop. Benefiting from its own sandy-toned color scheme, the Guzzi trail bike takes on hips, forehead and chest. What's the real story?

Also included are a pair of additional LED headlamps, heated grips and the in-house MIA multimedia platform, with smartphone pairing. All that's missing is a comfort seat.
These elements add 13 kilos to the bike's weight.

So, no larger fuel tank, modified suspension, enlarged bodywork or engine protectors. The V85 TT Travel retains a 23-liter fuel tank. Enough to fuel the 76-hp twin for 3 or 400 km. Its 8? delivers up to 8.4 mkg of torque. In addition to the charm of its powertrain, the manufacturer highlights the presence of a universal joint. It's true that only a minority of trails benefit from this type of transmission. And it's the only one in its size range.
In addition to multimedia, the machine's electronics include 5 riding modes (Road - Rain - All-terrain - Sport - Custom), traction control, ABS, cruise control and a 4.3" TFT screen
The extra equipment justifies the higher price. Neither a rip-off nor a rip-off, but just the right amount. This Travel can quietly continue on the same path as the V 85 TT.
