presentation of the F3 RR 800 2025
MV-Agusta has given itself the means to return to World SuperSport with this redesigned 800 sports car. This championship is suffering from the gradual abandonment of manufacturer production. Before the redesign, there were no CBRs, no Ducatis, a few Kawasakis, a GSX-R and plenty of Yamaha bikes.... It almost became an R6 Cup.
Except that with the revised regulations, allowing bigger bikes to enter, new machines can enter. Ducati has entered its Panigale V2 in the WSSP, while Triumph is entering its Street Triple 765 RS (with a Daytona fairing). The F3 RR is here to take a bite out of the deal, offering fans of the Italian diva an even heartier plate.
As beautiful as ever, but a lot thinner! In its quest for efficiency, the F3 RR joins the growing club of winglet-equipped motorcycles. Is it to be fashionable, or to take advantage of the extra weight on the front and relieve traction control? Surely both; each will judge to tip the balance. MV-Agusta has redesigned the fairing panels to incorporate a series of fins, CBR 1000 RR-R style. A technical asset that lends it a certain visual violence. Is it damaging, masochistic or proudly belligerent to affix these elytra to such a sensual design as the F3?
Efficiency is the dictate here. These new panels (in carbon, please) provide 8 kg of load at 240 km/h. The air will thus press down a little more on the front end, resulting in the aforementioned benefits. But they also generate more resistance to forward motion. The manufacturer has solved this problem by redesigning the CX with a new bubble, fairing sides and mudguard, also in carbon. Observe the design of this element: its low section channels air towards the brake calipers for better cooling. Never before seen in production.

The F3 RR's engine is the same as the last version installed in the F3 series. A spirited three-cylinder, extremely compact and as quiet as an attacked wasp's nest. When the rattle turns to hysteria, the bike announces 147 hp in the boiler and some 9 mkg, with more generous valve timing. Improvements include titanium valves, less internal friction, more powerful injectors, a revised exhaust line, refined engine parameters and a 5% more efficient oil cooler.
Like the RC models, the RR comes with a racing kit. Enough to reveal its formidable personality and really exploit it on the racetrack. The big box contains a whole series of items to be installed to raise the fantasy level: a tank cap; a seat cover; a titanium Akrapovic exhaust with its racing ECU - thanks to this, the F3 RR increases its power level by 8 hp for a weight reduced by 8 kilos. The numbers will fuel your desire: 155 horsepower for 165 kilos dry weight! You can almost see the trajectories in its headlights.

Or forget about it for a moment and think about improving your lap times by adjusting the suspension. It's not Instagram that's going to adjust the preload, compression and rebound of the 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork or the Sachs shock absorber. On Tik Tok, we don't brake; in real life, we'll be quite happy with the action of the Brembo Stylema (update 2023) on the 320 mm discs when we catch them at 240 km/h.
Speaking of updates, the F3 RR gets a few improvements: the aforementioned Brembo calipers and a PR 16/19 master cylinder, a revised dashboard display, improved throttle feel and simplified cruise control deactivation, upgraded cornering ABS, the adoption of Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa IV tires, redesigned LED turn signals and a new full LED headlight unit too.
Let's take stock. Between an F3 800 and an RR, the engine, chassis, braking and electronics are similar. It's already a pretty interesting package. It's in terms of agility, aerodynamic efficiency and muscle-building (racing kit) that the RR shows its willingness to go into battle. But.... The price increase may raise doubts. For the same budget, you can afford a hypersport.
On the other hand, to open the door to the new SuperSport, you couldn't find a more beautiful companion
