presentation of the SRK 1000 2025

Chinese manufacturers regularly throw a wrench into what was once a well-established motorcycle market. The attempts are met with varying degrees of laughter from the historic manufacturers, and even from a section of the public not yet aware of the awakening of the Middle Kingdom. QJMOTOR likes to do this on a regular basis, and when you know that the brand is owned by the all-powerful GEELY group, the same group that owns Volvo (automobiles), you're bound to take the time to take an interest, lend an ear, open your eyes wide...

This time last year, the brand presented an impressive 1000 cm3 four-cylinder sports bike. This year, QJ is doubling down and, on the same basis, offering a very handsome roadster called the SRK1000.

Italian styling to dress up an MV-Agusta Brutale

In the manufacturer's own words, this roadster is " a motorcycle designed to impress the market ". Bingo! You've hit the nail on the head. Known for working with an Italian styling agency, QJ's roadster is a real eye-catcher. The look is hyper-aggressive, halfway between a Ducati Monster and an MV-Agusta. We start with a front headlamp with daytime running lights, running down low along the fork in pure Street Fighters style. Another trendy feature: handlebar-mounted mirrors. The fuel tank seems to be pierced by two ducts, producing an unprecedented aesthetic effect. The side scoops to conceal the radiator don't go overboard to bring a little harmony to the overall effect.

The rear hull is very aeronautical, especially with the two fins on either side of the seat, on which we find the small LED lights at the end, a magnificent piece. The passenger seat also seems to float on the rear frame. Already seen on the SRK 1000 RC, the twin exhausts make a significant contribution to the bike's look, and also provide a clear view of the single-sided frame. The latter always makes an impact on any bike, and it's just beautiful.

The dashboard, of course, gives in to the siren song, with a 5.5-inch TFT color display of which little is known in terms of connectivity or display functions.

163 hp, 215 kg, Marzocchi, Brembo: an MV-Agusta heritage!

QJMotor SRK 1000 after a frankly seductive look, QJMotor decided not to stop there. The roadster inherits the 921 cm3 liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine, delivering maximum power of 120 kW at 13,600 rpm (163 hp) and torque of 90 Nm at 11,000 rpm. This engine already powers the SRK 921 RR, and is not exactly an original.

In fact, if you didn't already know, QJ has signed a Joint Venture with MV-Agusta to exploit the Varese brand's engines and cycle parts. What's more, former Meccanica Verghera employees now work for QJMotor. Here, it's the engine from the Brutale 920 that's back in service, with more super-square ribs and much more power. And no doubt a little, a lot, of the chassis for the trellis frame and its two side plates. The SRK1000 is equipped with a Marzocchi adjustable upside-down front fork, a central multi-link rear suspension and a Brembo braking system with double 320 mm front discs, fearsome Stylema 4-piston calipers and a single 260 mm rear disc.

In terms of driving aids, the bike is equipped with ABS and traction control. We'll have to wait until the bike goes on sale to find out all the details.

Chinese ecology

Recycling is in! When China gets involved, it's even more surprising. Here, QJ has the good taste to take what were known at MV-Agusta as real sensation factories. By also developing its sporting image with the Gresini team in MotoGP (Moto2 main sponsor), QJMOTOR is a pebble that could hurt the shoe of the historic manufacturers. We'll have to see the bikes in Europe, and the price and quality of the beasts, before making a judgement, but we'll certainly give them a chance.

French Model 2025
Very nice machine, the clutch housing is not very happy as well as the pot. I'd have liked to see a 3-cylinder to Europeanize it even more:). In this genre, I prefer the CFMOTO. If the idea is to penetrate the European market, the price and weight seem a little excessive. The 1000 Hornet will certainly pose problems for other manufacturers, even the Chinese. Rating : 4/5
