presentation of the 1600 HENCHMAN 2010
the world of Saxon is for enthusiasts, for those who seek different values. Speed, performance, the last gram saved for a thousandth better on the track, over-the-counter Superbikes or streetfighters terrorizing the streets, they don't care. Among them are John and Hogger. John loves the big American custom bike, and it's unthinkable to him that any other country would manufacture machines with the US flavor of the 60s. Hogger, on the other hand, is always on the lookout for new sensations, exploring new genres, disinterested in large-scale production and seeking out craftsmen with a taste for know-how and preparation. They met in Paris, at a marine biology conference, and their shared passion for the reproduction of the Andean porpoise led them to hit it off. Three herbal teas and a heated discussion later, John was keen to discover Saxon - and just the thing: the only French importer is in the capital.
john's no softy, and he drinks white spirit for breakfast. He needs a machine like his own, dry, stripped down, with a deep black soul and a virile frame. So he turned to the Henchman. A radical bike with a rigid frame that's not good for the back. First of all, the sensations, the raw, authentic contact with the road. Wild, the American bike is content with the minimum and refuses to be superfluous. Rear suspension? What's the point? A pair of springs under the seat will do the trick. Glitz and glamour? No need. The S&S twin is there to occupy the eye, snore like a grunt, and shake the plexus when tickled. With 1,573 cm3 of cubic capacity, its big hand and 12 mkg of torque give it an American muscular look. Its sober side is also reflected in its price. Indeed, the Henchman is the least expensive of the range. But in absolute terms, its 280 kilos of metal can only be exchanged for a sum approaching 23,000 euros. You can easily add another 1,000 to fit it with a striking Springer fork. John wants it just as it is, but Hogger would have chosen it with more accessories; with a good wallet, there's plenty to customize the machine.
so excited, John didn't immediately realize that the secondary transmission was chain driven. However, it's traditionally a belt that transmits the potato on these machines. Our hero of the night was much more interested in the spoked wheels, Brembo brakes, Supertrapp muffler, much shorter wheelbase than the Warlord or Firestorm, and above all, that fascinating face. The Henchman captivates and dominates like no other. A Harley would look bland next to it. As for the Japanese customs, let's not even talk about them.
John set off again with his new conquest for the highlands of the Vendée. Hogger, happy to have won over a new buddy, returned in search of adventures beyond our borders. After Mirabelle, Cousteau, Chopin and Viandox, he found Saxon to satisfy his rebellious desires.
