presentation of the GSX-R 1000 R 2019

"Fonce, déboule, gaz en grand, yaouhou !!!!" Here are the first ecstasies after unleashing the fury of the horsepower-armored 4-cylinder.
"Brake, dive, turn... Oh my! How this thing works. Get your fingers out or you'll end up in the heap!". That's the kind of lesson the GSX-R 1000 R gives you when you start to tickle it. After all, this hypersport is just waiting for sparks to ignite neurons, tear up curves and make gumshoes suffer.

and that's just one of the changes in the Gex 1000's optimization for 2019. The Bridgestone RS10s, which are almost like reworked slick, have been replaced by the latest RS11 version.
More specific to the R, experienced riders will now be able to adjust the height of the swingarm pivot point. Suzuki has installed a special plate for this purpose. A rare configuration possibility, mostly only available on pure racing wheels or sultry Italians. The GSX-R 1000 R improves its braking with the adoption of aviation hoses (not too soon).
A small gesture 'lightens' the exhaust vision. A black finish complemented by an angular protective plate gives the illusion that the silencer has been refined.
In short, Suz has refined its sports car sparingly. Almost logical given the level of performance, but we would have appreciated something more demonstrative.

Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R 2019however.... Do you want something demonstrative? Turn on the ignition and open it wide. This ball of nerves lacks any recoil. After taking a long time to catch up with its seasoned rivals, the GSX-R 1000 has finally returned to the top of the fight with a host of improvements and an engine capable of setting the fastest lap times.

in addition to a revamped silhouette that remains true to the company's spirit, the Suz sports bike has been given a new engine - with variable intake timing - that produces no less than 202 hp and a good 12 mkg, a more efficient chassis, and lots of electronics. Its all-digital dashboard is just the tip of the iceberg. In the past, it was only equipped with S-DMS and ABS. Now it's joined by traction control with 10 levels of adjustment, a ride-by-wire throttle, a 6-direction inertial unit working on 3 axes, the evolution of ABS which becomes active, the Easy Start System and Low RPM Assist.

the GSX-R 1000's R version completes the package. An R to define a more complete, performance-oriented package. What does it offer?
Let's stay with electronics. The Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R is equipped with an Up&Down shifter, which cuts engine load for 50 to 75 milliseconds, just long enough to shift up or down. A Launch Control System is also fitted, to optimize standing starts. These features are already present on rivals such as the Aprilia RSV4-RR, Ducati 1299 and MV-Agusta F4 .

suzuki doesn't define this extra R by its electronic goodies alone. The GSX-R 1000 R is also distinguished by its Showa inverted cartridge fork, the BFF. Superb, it improves braking stability, offers greater comfort on the road, and gives more feel and information on the track. It is complemented by a Showa shock absorber, the BFRC Lite. The BFRC Lite offers enhanced traction and sensitivity.
Two more sporty elements, also found on a certain Kawasaki ZX-10R std.

finally, the GSX-R 1000 R benefits from a lighter battery, LED position lights and a black background for its LCD screen. Surprisingly, this improved GSX-R is one kilo heavier than its sibling, weighing in at 203 kg.
Even more dedicated to efficiency, the GSX-R 1000 R brings a number of advantages over the standard model. The Hamamatsu-based brand remains true to its low-price policy, offering an improved GSX-R for a price tag of around €20,000. The other premium Japanese models are much further out in space.
A racing R, not to be confused with a premium edition. Remember the GSX-R 750 Limited Edition, RR and SP-R. Is this GSX-R 1000 R the descendant? Only the track will be the judge. But whether on road or track, this machine is simply demonic, addictive and highly efficient. Our test ride left our eyes glued to the back of our skulls.

Not much to complain about with this top-of-the-line 2019 1000 R version, with all the technologies of a real race bike, worthy of a Superbike. All that's left is a muffler that's a little more racing and aesthetically pleasing, and that's it for me - a dream within my grasp, just like the 1985 model that gave me a passion for GSXRs.
