presentation of the GSX-R 1000 R Phantom 2021

15 years after the first special series, Suzuki England releases a new limited edition GSX-R 1000 Phantom. A dark hypersport in pursuit of its glory, it sets out to seduce the souls of the night and boiling lap times.

With its "phantom-atic" name, the big Gex could almost pass for a 007 companion, amplified by the all-black deco and depth scratched with a few sparkles. Dark gold rims and inverted Showa forks add a classy touch to the Suzuk'. The black and gold cocktail is eternal.

If ghosts have a reputation for making eerie, scare-inducing sounds, the GSX-R 1000 R Phantom relies instead on its Yoshimura R11 muffler to make its 202-hp 4-cylinder scream with power.
Other accessories include a matching seat cover, protectors for the fuel tank, control levers and fuel filler flap, and a high-smoke bubble.

200 units of this Phantom are planned, priced at £17,499. Hardly more than the production model.
Like the (former) Tourist Trophy, Buildbase and Pepsi GP versions, this GSX-R is likely to be confined to British roads. Between the lack of interest in sports bikes, the disappearance of the GSX-R range in France and the Brexit quagmire, there's no hope of seeing it arrive here. But Suzuki has become accustomed to releasing special series in all shapes and sizes.
