presentation of the 865 SPEEDMASTER 2013

the meaner 865 Speedmaster could really go for the 883 Iron. Triumph's little custom received some fine upgrades in 2011, and as a result becomes darker, almost surly, yet more accessible. The forks have been stripped of their overcladding and the forks blackened, the front rim has been enlarged from 18 to 19 inches, the rear mudguard has been cut straight with a scythe, and technically, the wheelbase has been shortened by 55 mm, which should make the custom easier to engage. While the look is more aggressive, life on board is the opposite. With a lower seat height (690 mm) and wider handlebars, the riding position is more comfortable. Like its cousins, the America and Bonneville, this machine sets itself apart from traditional customs with its parallel 865 cm3 twin engine set at 270°. Its 61 horsepower enable it to cruising along boulevards in complete peace of mind. If you're looking for something a little meaner, Triumph also released a 1700 Thunderbird Storm in 2011, twice as big and twice as expensive.

Une bonne moto entrée de gamme
I own a Speedmaster and I'm not disappointed! On the other hand, it's a real shame there's no ABS, as the rear wheel tends to lock up quite quickly, which can be surprising for beginners.

Power output is decent, with the breaker at around 160km/h or a little over max. I took the opportunity to make a lot of modifications to the bike (rear suspension, mufflers, engine protection, heated grips, LED indicators, sissy bar, tray footrest... there's plenty of fun to be had!

I've been waiting four years to buy one, and after testing it out last week, I've finally acquired it. As far as power is concerned, it's just right for this type of bike. A bit of a bummer, but that's part of the game.
To be seen in daily use.

Poids et débutant, est ce compatible ?
French philmo Model 2012
Thanks Raoul,

i went to Triumph to see the Speedmaster, I still like it, I'm continuing my licence, at 50 it's not as fast as at 20, and at my dealer's I saw the Thunderbird 1700, I like it too, maybe it'll be more comfortable for two-up riding, the weight makes me forget I'm a young licence holder, I'm waiting to get it to try both. Are weight and beginners compatible?

I own a 20-year-old Suz Savage 650, and after a test drive I'm disappointed with the engine relaunch. The doubled weight, despite the doubled horsepower..... do not justify the new investment. The shocks are unworthy, and the pots are too low to touch. It's a pity, because the finish, quality, roadholding and braking are a real plus in this category. What's left is a chain that needs re-tensioning without a center stand.....Ai\"e Rating : 4/5

very seduced but dubious about the power, is it enough? I'M WAITING FOR THE TEST DRIVE Rating : 5/5

Hi, great bike, suitable for everyone, young or old, with or without experience, it fully fills a niche, I'm keeping my license, but I'm enjoying myself
Speed is great, but the torque is pure happiness. It's a nice change from the Daytona, but every day I'm not 20 but 65, when I say it's made for everyone
My joy is both. Lucky old man that I am
See you later and I hope I've removed any doubts you may have had about whether you were right to think about this bike at 50
