presentation of the 1200 Thruxton TFC 2019
The Thruxton TFC is the first (small) production run from Triumph's customization department. A superb super-premium machine, an exercise in refinement for demanding enthusiasts, a café-racer brought to the height of its definition. Embellished with beautiful parts and a better power-to-weight ratio, it heralds the opening of the haute couture department within the English manufacturer.
what a figurehead for TFC! What better way to make an entrance. The "Triumph Factory Custom", after a few demonstrative creations, is launching into the production of high value-added models. Little by little, customization departments are springing up within the brands, refining production models with top-quality special editions. Harley-Davidson's CVO has been around for a long time; MV-Agusta recently spawned the RVS; the first signs of this can be seen in Bavaria with the BMW Motorrad Spezial... Triumph goes on the offensive with the sportiest moderno-classic model in its range.
the Thruxton R becomes more desirable and even more racy with a number of delicately chosen elements. Projecting its identity towards speed, a carbon fork head gives the bike its full dimension. This opens up the list of lightweight parts made from this material: the front mudguard, seat backrest, heel guards and muffler tips.
That's just the intro. TFC puts its stamp on the upper fork crown, simply erotic with its aluminum machining, the monogram on the side and the numbered plate on top. The fuel tank benefits from a further finishing effort, with brushed knee guards decorated with hand-painted gold edging. To accompany its dark color scheme, the machine's rims, engine casings and Öhlins shock absorber springs are covered in black. If you turn your attention to the rear section, you'll notice that the rear mudguard has disappeared - necessitating a redesign of the plate holder and rear light - and a new leather saddle with gold stitching has been fitted

Use is further enhanced by the arrival of a 43 mm Öhlins NIX 30 upside-down fork. Combined with piggy-back amortos from the same company, this fully adjustable suspension team promises the Thruxton enhanced efficiency on the road. All the more so when fitted with the high-grip Metzeler racetec RR tires. Dynamism is also enhanced by a weight loss of 5 kilos and more power thanks to the 107 hp from the moulbif. To keep the weight under 200 kilos, the engineers installed a lighter battery and aluminum engine cradles.
exclusivity couldn't be limited to the above. There's nothing like a good engine upgrade to consolidate a budding reputation. For the TFC version, the 1200 cm3 parallel twin has gained 10 horsepower.
It has been given a vitamin boost with high-compression pistons, a new cam profile, revised ports, a lightened crankshaftnew clutch, balance shaft and alternator, a thinner crankcase and recalibrated driving modes (Road - Rain - Sport). All the electronics of the Thruxton R are also present, including LED lights, ABS, traction control, ride-by-wire, USB port, coded immobilizer and digital windows in the meters. The latter benefit from a special finish. And since power assistants aren't everything, Triumph has taken care to let its twin-cylinder sing. On the Thruxton TFC, the engine gives voice through two special Vance & Hines silencers.
the new aluminium oil sump cap is not immediately noticeable. Instead, you'll find the Monza-style fuel filler cap, the large metal strap running through it, the aluminum swingarm, the Daytona R footbraces and the handsome Brembo M4.34 clamps. The latter are activated by an MCS master cylinder (also Brembo) with adjustable center distance and clearance.
while we await the next Rocket III, here's Triumph's most expensive, most striking and most glamorous machine. At Hinckley, we know how to cultivate desire with increasingly high-quality products. With this TFC, we're sharpening our collection skills. 750 examples will be produced, at a price of 22,500 euros each; around sixty are due to arrive in France. Each TFC will be supplied with a numbered certificate signed by Nick Bloor (Triumph's boss), a cover and a personalized book on the bike's preparation.

congratulations to the lucky buyers of this superb machine.
provided it doesn't suffer from electronics or wiring harness problems like some of its predecessors in the same category, that would spoil the party. Rating : 5/5 Respond to bob
