presentation of the 2500 Rocket III R 221 Special Edition 2022

The Rocket III wears a new rugby jersey in 2022. It's not the n°5 as you might think, but a number as strong as its engine. The 221 special series is here to show off the power of its 3-cylinder engine.

Even a fleeting glance at this bike suggests an orgy of power. In fact, it's now displayed in large letters on the fuel tank: 221, the newton-meters developed by the (very) large 3-cylinder. No other production bike offers this much power. Just think, you'd have to line up two Yamaha MT-10s to get that much torque.

Triumph likes to offer quality colors for its special series. For the Rocket 221, it's a beautiful blood red, covering the tank and the central part of the front mudguard. A small amount of black lacquer is carefully scattered to create grip-knees, cover the rear seat edges, the small windscreen, the mudguard arms, the radiator scoops and the headlight casing. Particularly proud of its mechanics, the Rocket also likes to show off its measurements. The MV-Agusta Brutale Nürburgring is another example.

The Italian presented part of its CV on its winglets; the English model lists its technical specifications around its steel belly-belt. Engine ratings, power, torque, displacement and the identity of the parent company are all mentioned.

Triumph 2500 Rocket III R 221 Special Edition 2022 enough to stimulate the discovery of this aurochs of the road. Not only is its block staggering, but its equipment has been meticulously crafted to match. First of all, 167 horses push hard, then Brembo Stylema brake calipers calm the massive horde. Suspension is provided by a large 47 mm inverted fork and a Showa shock absorber, both fully adjustable.
On-board electronics include 4 Driving Modes, angle-sensitive ABS and traction control, cruise control, keyless entry, LEDs everywhere, USB socket, backlit switches, tire pressure monitoring and a color TFT screen - ready for Bluetooth connectivity. Optional extras include navigation via Google and app, phone, music and GoPro control.

Triumph could have offered this Rocket III in 221 units only. Instead, this special series, like all the others in the 2022 catalog (Gold Line, Ton Up, EC1), will not be limited but vintage. Only available for one year. The GT version is also offered in this egocentric scheme.
