presentation of the 750 Gear Up GEO Limited Edition 2021
... with Baikal as the main course. Ural seems eternally in search of adventure, always envious of crossing its continent and its wide range of difficulties. A piece of Russian history, tirelessly using the same technical base for 80 years - retouched to a minimum to stand the test of time.
Its new GEO limited series is aimed at all (rich) explorers of the unknown.
Difficult terrain or more? With its Gear Up base, special camouflage outfit and bonus equipment, the side-by-side wants to go everywhere, especially if there's quagmire.
Reportedly from KTM, it 's called the "Gear Up R". Look at all those orange tubes, highlighting all the protective parts. Don't be jealous of the handlebars, they're citrus too. Ural has upped the ante in terms of decoration, with a hand-made paint job. Superimposed layers of paint make each model unique. The cubist street-urban-jungle geometric patterning gives it a shockingly chic camouflage, more fashionable than discreet. On the other hand, it's great for parking in front of bases beyond the Arctic Circle.

You can tell the Gear Up expects all kinds of trouble. Encounters with trees, traps or clods of frozen earth. The GEO is prepared. The headlamp is fitted with a protective grille, while the flasher units are surrounded by tubular sections. A bumper completes the rear section, with the end of the bumper talking to the RotopaX fuel can. Here, it hangs on a bracket rather than in a dedicated basket as on the Gear Up. Its size has also been reduced (5.6 liters instead of 10). This is because we need to free up a little space to install the raised GPR High Pipe exhaust system (for off-road use only...).
The chassis tends to improve with Nitron suspensions featuring multiple settings (compression, preload and rebound). His confidence in long-distance riding goes so far as to install a ball mount for a GPS or other accessory, as well as a double USB socket. That's because he wants to make terminals out of them....... Or simply because more and more people want to keep their smartphones within easy reach.

Only 20 Ural 750 GEO sidecars will be sold. At Irbit, we know how to use rarity to enhance the aura of an age-old machine. It is priced at $26,999, or just over 22,000 euros at the end of 2020. 8,000 more than the standard Gear Up. Argh! The Siberian dream is expensive.
