presentation of the Alyen 988 2020
Vyrus is Bimota's neighbor, both in style and geography. A craftsman mainly known to lovers of exceptional motorcycles, releasing models in dribs and drabs at muscular prices. While Bimot' comes back to life with the help of Kawasaki(Tesi H2), Vyrus brings out the powder and the technique with this new 988 Alyen.
The brand created by Ascanio Rodorigo observes the Adriatic Sea, while in its workshops, mechanical passion gives birth to a striking machine. Its name is well chosen, as this monster could please the creature from the Nostromo. This motorcycle wouldn't hesitate to rip your guts out before its engine could shake them.
Rather faithful to Ducati mechanicals, Vyrus extends the existence of the big twin Superquadro that equipped the 1299 Panigale. With huge bowls, this block produces 205 hp at 10,500 rpm and a heaping helping of torque. It's enough to give the Alyen great acceleration, crazy acceleration and a top speed flirting with the 300 km/h mark. The Alyen's emissions are exhaled via breathtaking carbon fiber tailpipes. This transplatation was carried out with the appropriate changes to validate the mechanics in Euro5.
The Vyrus models also stand out for their Bimota Tesi-like chassis. The 988 is no exception, building its body on a pair of magnesium plates. These Omega-shaped parts use the engine as a load-bearing element. The front axle is a swingarm with a steering hub.
At the rear, a long monobar is controlled by an Öhlins shock absorber. Here, too, the pleasure of detailing the technology is jubilant. Unusually positioned, it works with a double set of Ergal connecting rods.

Note that neither cables nor hoses are visible from the cockpit - everything is hidden inside the handlebars, carved from a block of Ergal.
As this bike is not limited by price or accessibility for the general public, it takes pleasure in its choice of materials. The leather seat is mounted on a self-supporting carbon frame. A material used extensively: for the Rotobox wheels fitted with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires, for the fairing, the sabot, the tank, the handguards (with integrated LED indicators), the speedometer cover, and so on. The weight is also reduced, to 165 kilos.
The electronic equipment is well present, even if it's not what will impress us the most on this xenomorph. This Vyrus is equipped with an inertial platform, traction control, shifter and color TFT instrument panel, but no further details have been revealed.
Vyrus plans to produce just 20 examples of its 988 Alyen. Pricing has not been revealed, but it's not hard to imagine it costing the same as an apartment. Toxic, this motorcycle is a frontier between singularity, science fiction and haute couture.
