Motorcycle specifications Yamaha700 Ténéré World Raid 2026 Reaching the entrance to the worlds
presentation of the 700 Ténéré World Raid 2026
Since the conclusion of the 1200 Super Ténéré Worldcrosser, Yamaha has not returned to the terrain of the big trails at the end of the world. Instead, it's the 700 Ténéré that capitalizes on the brand's unfailing aura of adventure. Returning in 2026, the World Raid version benefits from all the recent improvements to the T7, while bringing back its more committed specificities. Raids and rally-riders, there's plenty to keep you going.
Parallel paths
A Ténéré, whatever its version or year, remains a Ténéré. With minor or major modifications, it's instantly recognizable. This reassuring sense of identity means that the torch can be passed from one generation to the next, while preserving the brand's reputation. As a result, the new World Raid's evolutions don't jump out at you, so much so do the features of itspredecessor. If we take a little time, the redesigned headlamp and its square lenses (from the standard 700 Ténéré) stand out to draw our attention to its new layout.
Curiosity descends and allows us to appreciate the reworked sides, under-seat covers, aluminum shoe and fuel tank. This is one of the key elements of the World Raid. With a capacity of 23 liters, 7 more than the Ténéré, it's ideal for long stages (500 km announced). It retains the same capacity as the previous model, but has been lightened by 1.5 kg, while adopting new shapes to improve rider comfort. This has led to a redesign of the one-piece seat.
It's worth noting that this is not one but 2 tanks, connected to each other to balance fuel fluctuations. The two fuel filler flaps are still very much in evidence, and are essential for refuelling.

Nose to the horizon
That's not all, far from it. The Yam' of the great outdoors is clearly looking for greater robustness and technical consistency. To this end, the entire suspension system has been revised. For the front, a new, larger 46 mm upside-down fork (+ 3 mm in diameter) offers greater rigidity and comfort, thanks to revised springs and settings. Both forks and shock absorbers can be adjusted in all directions, making them very adaptable. The latter also gains in efficiency with more travel, more oil in the reservoir and optimized linkage.
These components still travel 230 mm and 220 mm, 20 mm more than the basic Ténéré.
The Ténéré's frame has been redesigned, but the rear buckle is still not removable. The machine gets a new steering damper with 16 levels of adjustment, a new exhaust mount, new commodos, and a good dose of electronics as well. But first, let's stick to the chassis. After all, it's the body that's going to get you everywhere. The wheels are a very good indicator of this, fulfilling the same type of mission as before with 21" and 18" dimensions, Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR and a very off-road bow finesse with 90/90 at the front. The rear is 150/70.
No changes to report on the brake front, apart from the introduction of aviation hoses to drive Brembo 2-piston calipers. Braking has always been well calibrated for the Ténéré, with 282 mm discs at the front and 245 mm at the rear.
With 220 kg on the scales before loading gear and crew, the bike hasn't gained (or lost) any weight.
Nor has the twin-cylinder CP2. Upgraded to Euro5+ it has recently lost some of its character, but torque delivery is more linear and a little fuller at low revs. Under the throttle, the rider is entitled to 73.4 horsepower. They know how to be efficient. But they're going to have to watch out for the competition. Opposite them, the Chinese want to take a bite out of this terrain, and brandish 95 hp for a more accessible budget. The Ténéré can still count on its legend and its qualities, but the rock is rumbling.

The b... and the knife replaced by the tablet?
Is this why Yamaha has enhanced its equipment, or because the call of the open sea rhymes with weaponry? In any case, the Ténéré World Raid now comes with cruise control and speed limiter, IMU inertial unit, cornering ABS, traction control, two power modes (Sport/Explorer) and slip control (SCS). Quite an addition! To think that the previous model only had a 3-mode ABS... Those who appreciated the techno-digital sobriety of the first T7s may be less pleased with the new deal - you don't necessarily have a Cray on hand between the Atlas and the Oasis.
What does Yamaha have to say about these assistances?
" Tilt-sensitive TCS and SCS both use IMU data to adjust engine power and control traction and glide according to the rider's choice. Both systems feature three modes - STREET, OFF ROAD and OFF - allowing riders to choose the optimum level of traction and glide assistance, whether on-road or off-road. "
The ABS is also angle-sensitive, and can always intervene according to 3 laws: either active everywhere, or deactivated on the rear to let it drift at your convenience, or completely switched off on both wheels when you've got the job to play with.
The World Raid opted for a color TFT screen from its first version in 2022, while the standard model kept an obsolete LCD system for a final year. The instrument panel grows to 6.3 inches, still in a vertical road-book-style position, and featuring three display themes: "Street", T7-style for road use; "Explorer" for off-road riding; and "Raid" with two large road-trips prominently displayed. The Smartphone can be connected to it, providing turn-by-turn navigation, recording a whole host of parameters during your outings, and of course managing calls, messages and music.

Exploring the world... not digitally.
This is a major update for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid. It retains all the specific features that make it a great Ténéré - but now with a whole series of electronic kickstands. They won't open the doors to raids, but they'll play a part in getting you there, and why not continue to do so once the arches have been crossed.
