karl Abarth. Quite a symbol in the world of Italian sports tuning. Recently back on the scene, the brand's heyday was in the 60s and 80s, when it handled Fiat models. For those of you who don't know the name, think of it in the same vein as BMW's M or Mercedes' AMG.
Carlo Alberto Abarth was born a century ago (on November 15, to be exact). He founded his company in 1949. It wasn't long before Abarth models gained a reputation with a strong racing flavour. In 1971, Fiat made Abarth its official tuner. From then on, sporty versions of the Turin-based car brand would bear the Abarth badge.

today, this partnership is commemorated by a muscular model from another privileged partner: Yamaha, and its FZ1. The 100th anniversary of Abarth gives birth to the FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corse. Limited series or styling exercise? The fact remains that this FZ1, in its full-bodied colors, lacks neither elegance nor presence, and even less in beautiful ornamentation. Red and white excite the retina, gold makes the neurons crackle. Nice Marchesini rims for shoes, a beautiful inverted fork with a separate Öhlins shock absorber, Brembo monobloc radial calipers... That's what you notice right away. Let's let these names slide gently into our mouths before moving on to the more discreet tastes of color. How about that Akrapovic titanium exhaust? How about these Rizoma plates and controls? How about these aluminum protective plates on the crankcases? If you're so inclined, there's still a little dull taste in the air when you discover the slick tires.

oh, I forgot. Let your eyes wander over the tank chute. Caress the two-tone alcantara seat. Insist until you reach the end of the FZ1's posterior. You'll discover an arthropod embedded in the seat cover. The Scorpion, the Abarth symbol.
No price or launch date has yet been announced. But that doesn't stop us from admiring this little gem.

Does anyone know the exact model of Öhlins fork used for this model (ex: FGRT 206) and where to find it? Because the fork leg seems to fit the FZ1 front wheel axle and would make it possible to keep the original front wheel. Thank you very much Rating : 4/5
