presentation of the FZ6 600 FAZER S2 2010
for a manufacturer, a model as important and emblematic as the Fazer needs to be pampered and handled with care.the Fazer needs to be pampered and handled with care, and when it comes to touching it up, Yam has chosen only 2 solutions in the past: either a complete overhaul, or very minor touch-ups. 3 years ago, it was a completely new model; this year, it's a small evolution aimed at preserving the essentials and subtly modifying certain aspects.
evolution code: S2. An additional appendix to the Fazer name to identify this 2nd generation relift. Don't look to the frame or engine for differences, it's all around you. The FZ6 S2 has a slightly different look, with a redesigned fork head with raised sides (no longer covering the top of the radiator), a different bubble, new one-piece brake cones (for the FZ6 S2), and a new front end.(they no longer cover the top of the radiator), a different bubble, new one-piece brake pads (they look like those on the R1 before it switched to radial braking), a new mudguard, and a number of features that deserve a little more attention. The new seat, better designed, with a different covering and foam, should improve comfort on board.
In the forkhead, the information has also changed. The old round instrument cluster, with its not-so-readable rev counter, has been replaced by the FZ1's instrumentation.
Yamaha seems to have listened to criticism of the passenger footrests. These are no longer welded to the rear frame, but fixed by a conventional set of screws. Much more practical and easier in the event of breakage. For the passenger's comfort, they are lower and fitted with rubber pads.
The main chassis modification: the swingarm. More flattering in appearance, the new swingarm has a hexagonal cross-section and is made of cast and extruded aluminum, with the aim of optimizing rigidity and agility.
Engine-wise, there are no changes to the R6 's block, but a revised injection map and a new exhaust system with new internal components.
this 2007 version of the FZ6 Fazer does not replace the 2006 Fazer. The latter will continue its career alongside the S2, but with less power (78 hp). A way of having a nice all-round roadster and a more muscular version in the same range.

I haven't changed much, just the white blinker caps, Akra titanium pots (with dB killers in the backpack), a 12V socket and Top Block pads. A real bike, even if the suspension is sometimes a little too reactive to the trigger (fork). I'm back from a 4-day long weekend (1581 kms including 620 kms of mountain roads, including the Alsace/Vosges route des crêtes). Well, I'm very happy with this bike and its handling in the twisties, despite the prohibited speeds in 2nd, 3rd and sometimes 4th gear at 6000/8000 rpm. Lively when overtaking, it really does its job. On the downside, my rear end was really sore after 620 km of mountain roads in one day... But what a kick! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Motmot62
\Thanks to the new laws, I was able to buy it.
Vehicle purchased at the concessio, 25500 on the odometer.
Despite the bridle, and coming off a Gladius SFV 650 (an ATV, I'd say .... ), I've been riding it for a week now.
What can I say ...
Road holding : Ok
Handling : Ok
Ergonomics : Ok
Comfort : Ok ( comfort saddle )
Riding position : Ok
Noise level : Ok
Fuel consumption ...... Ouch, we've reached a sensitive point.
It doesn't suck too much, but at higher revs you're bound to make friends with the local BP/Total.
Nothing to complain about, I'm continuing my biker life with a marvel, waiting to stick a double devil on it to make it sing, heated grips are the order of the day, .... I'm not going to leave her alone! Rating : 5/5 Respond to FnK

One from '98 and one from 2002. I'm trying the latest one, and I'm convinced. At first I think it's temporary, but I keep it. A high bubble to resolve the lack of protection, heated grips for winter, and off we go.
The only major fault of the model is the absence of a trunk! Even the one on my old R1 was bigger! Un comble ! But that's its only flaw, in my opinion!

Very happy with the 2006 FZ6S(1?), I swap it for the 2007 model, which is very little different (same frame, engine, etc.)
However, there were some (minor) disappointments
The dashboard shines the sun right back in my face, as the 2006's all-round dash did not
The smaller bubble doesn't protect me at all, and my shoulders feel like they're dragging, whereas they weren't with the 2006 (wider bubble)
The lookheed AR cap is now visible (it's useless and ugly)
Otherwise, for the price, it's still the best 600 on the planet - in my opinion. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Juillet-bo
