presentation of the XJ 600 Diversion N et S 2003
the 600 diversion has spanned a decade, watching its evolution with an amused smile. Built around a classic tubular steel frame and powered by a quiet, air-cooled 4-cylinder engine, the XJ can be ridden anywhere and is accessible to the widest possible audience. It may be criticized for its high fuel consumption, mediocre gearbox or lack of torque, but these are minor complaints compared to what it offers. First and foremost, its low price and road-going performance, especially in the S version, where travel can be envisaged with peace of mind. The wide, plush seat is a joy to ride, as is the suspension - providing excellent comfort for passenger and rider alike. Accessible to all, supple and at ease in town, the XJ isn't very playful (it doesn't pretend to be), but can handle any task. Handling is good, as is braking, which is one of only two modifications the diversion has undergone in its lifetime: the adoption of a second brake disc in 1998, and an increase in fork size from 38 to 41 mm. You want me to tell you: it's a good friend, and has been a best-seller for over 10 years.

Even though I'm able to get a lot out of it, I'm having a lot of fun and the 600 engine with its 61hp limits and reassures me. On the other hand, in a duo, it's a bit tight if you're a bit heavy and the tires are a bit narrow. Practical, with its adjustable shock absorber, 125cc insurance and reasonable weight, I can't get enough of it, and it's very affordable to customize. Everyone should have one at the back of the garage. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Boumbo
With its air cooling, the engine still has its charm.
It's comfortable, and easily handles a duo, at least for shrimps like us (I'm the fatso of the house at 65 kg).
It's impressively easy to use. Supple, light, easy to handle, low seat height, very good road holding and braking, etc...
For the record, I found it at 800â'¬ for 51,000 km, fully serviced and in truly impeccable condition.
It's a bike I'd really recommend for anyone wanting to start or get back into motorcycling. It will also delight any experienced biker who wants an economical bike for Sunday rides Rating : 5/5 Respond to Cynock
Has the 600 XJ Diversion been modified since 1998?
Thank you in advance for your answers
Rating : 5/5 Respond to fulup
Admittedly, it's not a "bomb", but there's enough power to have fun.
To ride simply, without worrying too much about the current repression. In short, just to have fun.
Slight vibrations tarnish the picture. Rating : 4/5 Respond to MICKA
thank you in advance for your reply Rating : 5/5 Respond to fabrice
i would like to know if I need special tools to change them
have a nice day
Daniel Rating : 3/5 Respond to dani danone

THANK YOU Rating : 4/5 Respond to le chinois
In terms of price, it's a very affordable and versatile bike.
Its 60hp are more than enough to get the feel of the road. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Fanfouer74
good balance
easy to ride
the only Default is the high vibration at deceleration
and handlebars are a bit stiff at full power, max speed 185 not unbridled
good road holding and durability
puncture-proof, soon to reach 98500 km
good bike overall Rating : 4/5 Respond to thibaut
ideal for touring and beginners. Rating : 4/5 Respond to delatof18
Before that, I read everything I could on the subject to make sure I wasn't wrong (thank you Internet and "test" articles...). I had a biker friend try it out... etc... etc... Then there was the apprehension, the stage fright: "Am I going to know? am I going to fall off? In short, a few hundred km later, I'm thrilled !!!! not too high, comfortable saddle, easy handling, docile, SHE'S THE MACHINE to have if you're just starting out and/or starting over... I don't regret my purchase!
Happy trails to all... Rating : 5/5 Respond to CYNARA
It goes everywhere and the passenger seat is quite comfortable (not me). OK, it's a bit pushy and it's true that the gears are super-fast, but I really think I've made a good choice as a starter
In any case, if anyone is still hesitating, we can only encourage them to take the plunge. Just be careful of the speed..
Rating : 5/5 Respond to Nji35
It's aged well, with a few minor problems: oxidation of the electrical connector under the seat, front caliper seals, culbus cover seals, timing chain and now the mufflers, which break at this mileage. It's normal, doesn't eat tires, front between 48,000 and 52,000 km, rear 24,000 to 28,000 km in BT45 and Macadam 50
engine vibration between 3,500 and 5,000 rpm, gearbox is reliable without stalling..... in short, it's a good machine
It's my first Japanese, since 1968, and I'm not disappointed. The only downside is the price of spare parts
i'm thinking of replacing it with .......another Div Rating : 5/5 Respond to chaduc
I'm very happy with it, I've had it since 1994
I had an electrical surge that fried quite a few things
quite a few things (battery, turn signal center, 2 HT coils + 2 spark plugs, ....)
It runs like new
For the moment, I'm polishing all the parts, to give it a bit of a shine
Ultra-economic machine (fuel consumption 5l and 7l/100km)
Appreciable these days
Rating : 5/5 Respond to yamahaboy
limited in equipment too bad. Rating : 5/5 Respond to juju
What's more, it's not too high, which is perfect. Nothing but positives for a first bike! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Audrey
I bought a duv as my 2nd bike (after 1 ER5), and I'm delighted! A quiet bike, ideal for a duo and that swallows the km without flinching (S version with backrest topcase for Madam)
A small correction to the description: the reservoir is only 17 liters (enough to pass the reserve at around 240 km and go up to 300 km without a second visit to the pump, at cruising speed)
Bonne route à tous. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Julo
the vapor evacuation breather, clogged at the outlet in the airbox. 2 hot oil changes and it should be back in order (known problem with Yam) Rating : 5/5 Respond to michel 13
1 year as a courier at 200km a day, 2 falls at 30 and 70 km/h with no mechanical damage, low maintenance, reliable, pleasant, tireless, we never tire of it Rating : 5/5 Respond to 05031979
In any case, I'm delighted with it and I'm not about to part with it ^_^ Rating : 5/5 Respond to moulefrite
In terms of performance, with a four-in-one, I'm still getting over 200 miles to the gallon. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bernard
And the gearbox....le vice de yam il parait...des points morts partout, des points dure qui évoluent). But hey, I've grown attached to it and it's got enough hp to blow up my license! The div is great value for money!!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to doonis
it has 16000 km
paid 2000e
apart from the problem of the steering from 160km\h
otherwise no problem for the moment
moreover since I saw on the site
http://600diversion.free.fr/
which indicates recurring problems on divs Rating : 5/5 Respond to cfunny
If the breather leaks (a classic Div' "fault"), just plug the hose that goes up into the airbox
Super economical, I'm having trouble finding a replacement for it. Aside from a little shaky handling when driving fast, I can't find any fault with it. Just great! I use it every day, all year round. Rating : 5/5 Respond to malkichay
Footrest always in place, when it's not the center stand (which I've done away with, fed up...)
Economy: 10/10
Around 70,000Kms (no more odometer, optimistic wheeling = salto...) and not a bit of play!
If you're looking for solid performance, go for it! Rating : 5/5 Respond to superskoof
economical and roadworthy. Very good comfort and braking
The 50 tarmac mount is a bit light and handicaps handling when you're looking for the limit. I sold it for a more powerful bike and I regret it today
Ideal for touring and city riding. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Fravic
