presentation of the MT-01 SP 2010
the MT-01 was born, was and remains a very special roadster. A chassis worthy of an R1 with a huge custom engine inside, that was daring. Imagine the torque of a truck, a twin as big as your sister-in-law that breaks up before 6,000 rpm, hypersport brakes... and now, with this SP edition, Yamaha has added the very best in suspension: an upside-down fork and shock absorber from Öhlins
just enough to enjoy yourself? No, simply to take the KODO experience (Japanese for "pulsation of the soul" or "external pressure of latent power") a step further.this MT-01 SP not only plays the sport card, with its Pirelli Diablo Rosso tires, top-of-the-range suspension, die-cast aluminum chassis, swingarm with inverted reinforcement and 6-piston radial calipers, but also the charisma card, with a specific, provocative and seductive deco. White-red two-tone fuel tank, gold-colored rims, red and black seat, new chrome finish on several components, nano-film protection on the metal finish of the exhaust system, and to top it all off, a special, provocative and seductive look.the MT-01 SP swaps its 25.4 mm handlebars for a 28.6 mm model, mounted on cast aluminum bridges, to sit atop this magnificent Öhlins fork.
More style, more nobility for this most atypical roadster. The singular MT-01 SP has its work cut out for it in the battle against the popular image of today's street-fighters. It's one of those machines designed for those who want a different kind of riding, a different kind of pleasure, a different kind of thrill.
