presentation of the XJR 1300 Yard Built -Eau rouge- by Deus 2014
Based on the XJR 1300, Italian company Deus Ex Machina has come up with a remarkable café-racer. With its headlight recessed into a vintage sports semi fairing, this creation in the Yard Built tradition instantly disturbs, then seduces preparation enthusiasts. Called Eau Rouge, this machine is a reinterpretation of the superbikes of the 1970s and 1980s. The hand-crafted seat, tank and cyclops fork head give the impression of a retro endurance bike. The metallic grey paintwork echoes the look of old Yamaha competition bikes.
Eye-catching from afar, the XJR Yard Built "Eau Rouge" is the talk of the town up close. Beautiful parts have invaded the bike and made it sublime. The fork is badged Öhlins, a name that exudes competition; it's not an inverted model, however. The tubing layout is classic, in keeping with the retro spirit of the Norton 961 Commando Sport. The golden 5-spoke wheels are signed Marvic, the brake calipers are engraved Discacciati, and minimalism shares the limelight with elements cut from the mass. The dashboard spits out sportiness, with a single rev counter (albeit adorned with a digital window tip). Öhlins amortos complete the rear end. On starting up, you can't help but be gripped by the guttural voice of the 4-cylinder, released by the titanium 4-in-1 exhaust.
A particularly striking, visually exhilarating motorcycle, which will remain a show-stopper for the time being.
