The creatives at it roCks!bikes mark the 20th anniversary of the XJR with the Yard Built "CS-06 Dissident"
When it comes to the Yamaha XJR, Portuguese tuners it roCkS!bikes are not newcomers. They have already made a name for themselves in the world of customization, creating the "Stealth" and "Sunburn" models based on the 1200 and 1300. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this iconic street bike, they turned their attention to the 2015 model to create a breathtaking Café Racer: the Yard Built XJR 1300 "CS-06 Dissident".
Holed up in a small underground workshop on the outskirts of Porto, Portugal, since 2013 Osvaldo Coutinho and Alexandre Santos have been civil engineers by day and it roCkS!bikes tuners by night. Their engineering talent clearly shines through in all their creations, built with precision and meticulousness, especially the monocoque tank, seat and rear unit that has made their name.
The Yard Built XJR 1300 "CS-06 Dissident" is no exception, featuring a hand-formed metal block that stretches from the triple clamp all the way to the rear. The model is an example of purity, simplicity and elegance, imbued with astonishing attention to detail. Nestled at the rear, LED lights integrate harmoniously.
Particular attention has been paid to driving feel, thanks to an integral ISR braking system comprising master cylinders for the front brake and clutch, front and rear calipers and huge front and rear discs (340 mm and 267 mm respectively). The 6-piston calipers produce incredible stopping power at the front, while Hell Performance mesh brake and clutch hoses tie it all together.

The YZF-R1 inverted fork, which absorbs pressure at the front, has been adapted to the XJR 1300's steering column. Several Motogadget parts make their appearance on the LSL Café Racer clip-on handlebars, including aluminum grips, M-Blaze turn signals and an advanced Motoscope pro instrument panel mounted on a CNC aluminum bracket, designed and customized in the workshop.
Crankcase covers have been replaced on both sides by lighter aluminum parts, whose glass inserts reveal the heart of the beast. A small-format, high-performance oil cooler ensures smooth operation, while a perfectly finished stainless steel 4-2 exhaust system reacts noisily to engine speed.
LSL-designed rear footrests impose a sporty riding position, behind a small hand-crafted metal fairing with integrated headlights. An aluminum Monza fuel cap adds the finishing touch to the tank, which features a superb Yamaha medallion. A handcrafted leather seat clips onto the monocoque in true Café Racer style. The CS-06 Dissident rests on magnificent 17-inch tubeless Kineo spoke wheels, topped by Pirelli Angel GT tires that ensure great stability.

In homage to the XJR, the superb paintwork is a reinterpretation of the classic colors of the 70s and 80s, namely pearly white, black and gold, not forgetting the legendary "speed block" design.
