With its lively engine, playful yet serious chassis (with the exception of the rear damping), assertive success and pleasant, responsive character, the MT-09 is a seductive machine that's a pleasure to ride. The XSR 900 adds to this cocktail a neo-retro plasticity that should maintain this success. To publicize this machine, Yamaha commissioned Roland Sands to modify an MT-09, giving birth to the Faster Wasp in the "Kenny Roberts replica" color scheme. In 2016, the XSR 900, along with a selection of other models, features this same color scheme to celebrate the brand's 60 years of racing. The story has come full circle.

In our opinion, it's with this dress that the XSR 900 really comes into its own. The vintage effect sprinkled on a modern motorcycle is perfect, with the pinch in the heart provoked by these yellow slicks topping the black and white checkerboard. The round headlights front and rear, the aluminum parts, the remote fuel filler flap and the small dashboard continue to draw interest to this machine. Too bad the mirrors aren't round too. You feel like you're in a Bracame workshop when you discover this XSR, and then you know that the road will be twirling with the on-board gear. the three-cylinder engine offers 115 horsepower and plenty of punch, with a choice of fuel injection maps, multi-stage traction control, an upside-down fork complemented by 4-piston radial calipers, all-aluminum construction and a temperament that's sure to win you over.
