presentation of the Niken 900 GT 2020
The Niken is one of the most interesting machines to come out of motorcycle production in a long time. But can you really call it a motorcycle when there are two wheels at the front? Yes and no. It's very different from a Can-am-style hybrid, and apart from its impressive double front axle, everything else is a bike, with strong MT-09 accents.
In fact, it's its three-cylinder CP3 engine that's waving around underneath. No sooner has it arrived than it's already pretending to travel with this GT version.
Yamaha repeats its tried-and-tested recipe for touring packaging, as applied to the 900 and 700 Tracer GT (and many other models before them). The Niken can now face up to the vagaries of cold and wind with a high bubble and heated grips. With copious mileage ahead, the comfort saddle will be all the more appreciated, for rider and passenger alike. Passenger grips are much more prominent, and double as a luggage rack.
A second 12V socket has been added, allowing you to plug in a GPS and smartphone at the same time. It's a shame this Niken doesn't come with a nice little TFT display like the 900 Tracer GT. The presence of a center stand will be much appreciated during routine maintenance. And what about taking things with you?
Two panniers for this purpose. Semi-rigid, they each hold 25 liters. Appreciable but judicious, this type of trunk? The first-generation Tracer offered the same luggage as an option, which was only moderately convincing. Yamaha has rectified the situation for the second version, with optional or standard City cases depending on the Tracer variant (and the possibility of attaching 30-liter Touring cases). Why not make the same choice straight away?
Last but not least, the GT has its own color scheme. For the rest, it shares its tubular steel frame, 115 hp, ABS, traction control, assisted anti-dribble clutch, 3 engine maps, cruise control, shifter and 4 fork tubes.
With its enriched equipment, the Niken 900 GT completes the touring range in a different way. You've got the Tracer for sport-touring, the FJR 1300 for grand touring, and this unclassifiable machine for discovering a new way to go away for the weekend. How much of an angle does it take? 45°, when the tips of the footpegs start to rub....

can we put a top case? and hard cases? thanks Rating : 5/5 Respond to chti.34
perhaps not yet for the hard-sided cases
then I think there will be universal hard side cases
sincerely Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
To answer your question, I installed hard cases on mine (Trekker). I just made some plates so that my support could be attached to the rear footrest and that was it.
Have a nice day! Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
