presentation of the S 2013
developed for urban use yet capable of back-road escapades, the Zero S integrates revolutionary technology with innovative design.
The result is a high-performance motorcycle with one of the lowest running costs around. The all-new "Z-Force" battery and powertrain technology is state-of-the-art. The result: the Zero S accelerates to 153 km/h and goes further than ever before.
Whether you're accelerating in a straight line or coming out of a corner, the Zero S is designed to deliver unique sensations that no other motorcycle can.
2013 Evolutions
the 2013 Zero S is 93% more powerful, with 62% more torque and 20% more range. 95% charging of the ZF8.5 or ZF11.4 at CHAdeMO charging stations in one hour, or even less, thanks to an optional accessory. With a range of 220 km (city) or 137 km (freeway) on a single charge, the Zero S is now not only the most autonomous electric motorcycle ever, but also the fastest, with speeds of up to 153 km/h. Equipped with Zero Motorcycles' all-new Z-Force motor and high-voltage propulsion system, the Zero S delivers blistering acceleration, but with a smooth ride. The ingeniously simple direct drive of the power unit, with no gears or clutches, is so efficient that no mechanical cooling system is required.
in addition to the incredible performance enhancements, the bike's elegant new look, including luggage, modernized riding interfaces and integrated mobile devices, is also worth mentioning. But also a new, modern fairing to match the bike's tank, which is now equipped with a two-seat saddle, handlebars and new footrests to maximize comfort and riding pleasure. The Nissin braking system and passenger footrests are now included in the standard version. The 2013 Zero S is completely customizable: it can be equipped with mobile devices via Bluetooth, enabling the rider to view a dashboard to his or her liking, with detailed riding information, and the ability to adjust the bike's performance characteristics.
range of over 220 km / Service life of over 500,000 km
the 2013 Zero S relies on a new battery type and configuration. Not only does the ZF11.4 pack deliver autonomies in excess of 220km, it's also designed to last the life of the motorcycle. The result of cutting-edge research and development is that each battery cell is individually controlled and constantly monitored to ensure optimum durability. The integrated charger minimizes charging time and can work in parallel with the rapid charger to reduce charging times by up to 75%. What does all this mean? That the Zero S is quite simply the benchmark for production electric motorcycles in terms of acceleration, range, charging time and longevity.
