presentation of the F 800 GS ADVENTURE 2016
There's now a mid-size version of the ultimate road bike with a globetrotting twist: the F 800 GS Adventure. Taking its cue from the 1200 GS of the same name, Bavaria's mid-range trail bike is now emancipated to offer the scent of trails and valleys. A relevant and more affordable solution, since the big GS requires a solid wallet at the time of purchase (over 16,000 euros excluding options). With a more measured caliber, the Adventure extends the handlebars to a new handful of users.
in this version, the F 800 GS is ready to go further, longer and more comfortably. The trellis frame is retained but strengthened to withstand new stresses. In Adventure, the machine is equipped with a 24-liter fuel tank, 8 liters more than the standard model - the manufacturer claims an additional 120 km of range. The twin-cylinder engine has to cope with increased weight and intends to consume 10% more fuel. Together, these elements suggest a range in excess of 400 km. Already ready to accommodate a set of suitcases thanks to the brackets supplied as standard, the Behemoth prepares the horizon for you.
to stand out from the crowd while retaining its identity, there's nothing like a slight but assertive modification of the bodywork. On the F 800 GS Adventure, the side panels and seat flanks impose a more robust look. Protection is reinforced everywhere, with a larger bubble, hand guards, a protective plate under the engine and a set of crankcase guards. Thicker, more comfortable and much more generous for the passenger, the saddle is 10 mm higher. Now perched 890 mm off the ground, the seat becomes decidedly high, especially as the lowering kit is not available. For more intensive off-road use, the Adventure also features enlarged enduro-type footpegs and a reinforced brake pedal.
aBS is standard, as on all BM models. The Adventure can complete its assistance package with ESA pilot-controlled suspension and ASC traction control, featuring a new enduro mode. At the touch of a button, the bike automatically coordinates ABS and ASC to optimize handling on loose, rocky terrain.
At your service to take you through thick and thin, the twin is unchanged. 85 hp from 798 cm3 and 8.4 mkg of torque. It's up to you to cope with the extra 15 kg you'll need to carry. With its additional equipment, the F 800 GS becomes an Adventure, weighing in at 229 kg.
a little 800 Adventure sister is a welcome addition to the manufacturer's range. Those who wanted to embrace the concept but felt intimidated by the big 1200 will find a more accessible machine. The size will be less impressive and the price less expensive (around 4,000 euros less). You won't get the cardan shaft or the Telelever, but you will get the essentials of a machine with a sweet desire to get away from it all.

For the record, the first version of the 2006 BMW R 1200 GS weighed 225kg, 4kg less than the 800 GS Aventure! And it had a cardan shaft...
So, German designers, show some ingenuity for a change.
Price and weight need to be reviewed!
Just under 180 kg, otherwise it's no longer a Trail.
You should review your sales policy, and instead of printing a lot of paper which will gather dust on your display racks in the brand's stores, you should send out a questionnaire to us enthusiasts, and incidentally your future customers if you're worth it! Rating : 2/5 Respond to JeanPierre
Motorcycles have their price and their qualities.
For those who don't like it,
there are many other brands out there, which can be assessed calmly and objectively.
Personally, I find them a pleasure to ride, whether solo or as a duo.

Perhaps the F700GS and F800GS (base model) should have
and F800GS (basic) the 20-liter fuel tank for greater autonomy (which can 24l; can 20l) without altering the bike or making huge modifications! Rating : 5/5 Respond to lafouine83
