presentation of the 800 MT-X 2025
We're not yet seeing them on every street corner... But CFMoto's machines are building a beachhead that's far from anecdotal. The MT trail squad would gladly take to more intrepid terrain than the road. So, the 800 MT-X is ready to take on the a(d)venture.
Some brands don't bother with a sticker, mixed tires and a khaki T-shirt to create something new. CFMoto, on the other hand, put in the work, nicked solutions here and there, and came up with a truly specific version. The staff are serious and want to be taken seriously.
The MT-X clearly shows its off-road orientation with rally undertones. And with it, an equivocal change of style. The whole front end of the 800 MT has undergone a serious makeover, with a high front mudguard replacing the standard model, new half-X side panels, a modified fuel tank extending downwards in exactly the same way as the KTM Adventure, new handguards, the disappearance of the crash bars, a more compact bubble (adjustable by 50 mm) and a different engine cowling.
It's clear that the 800 MT-X wants a sportier TT commitment. With this in mind, it adopts a flatter, one-piece seat, simplified passenger grips, new footpegs, a folding shifter and brake pedal, and wheels more suited to the outings it promises. The front rim becomes a true trail bow with 90/90 - 21. The rear rim retains its 150 width, but grows from 17 to 18 inches. Tires are also upgraded to studded.
The brakes are J.Juan 4-piston radial calipers clamping 320 mm Xihu discs at the front. The 260 mm rear is fitted with a 2-piston caliper.
As for the Kayaba suspension, CFMoto has a surprise in store for us.
You'll see a 48 mm upside-down fork, bigger than the ones on the 800 MT Sport, Touring and Explore. Okay, it's getting ready to take a beating. But what's next, when it comes to overcoming clods of earth, gravel or fords? That's where it all comes in... The MT-X is available on the market with two different suspension travels - 190 mm or 230 mm. As a result, ground clearance is either 200 mm or 240 mm. Obviously, this influence extends to the seat height, set at 830 mm or 870 mm depending on which version you choose. Will CFMoto France offer both?

Another factor that will have a major influence on the way this trail bike is driven is its dry revs. At 220 kilos ready to roll, it's 11 kg lighter than the MT Sport.
Let's change dimension and point of view. A KTM 890 Adventure, its antipodean cousin, weighs 196 kg dry; the Chinese model claims 198. Now it's getting interesting...
Except that these trekking ladies don't quite play in the same league. The Katoche benefits from a bigger, more powerful engine. Not one for revenge, the 800 MT-X is powered by the same block as the other MTs: the 790 version of the LC8c block. The twin-cylinder engine does a good job of taking the family with 91 hp and a maximum torque of 8.8 mkg.
CFMoto has equipped the MT-X with a large, upright 7-inch TFT display and a series of electronic modules: three riding modes (Standard - Offroad - Rain), Bosch traction control and cornering ABS, dual USB and 18W USB-C ports, connectivity, full LED lighting, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring and an Up&Down shifter.
According to our estimates, the CFMoto 800 MT-X should be very well priced, close to 10,000 euros. .
